Well, after being told that, i tried to see myself ordained, as a walked to the first door. It didn't take more than a few minutes for it to fall off. I didn't feel worthy. My heart wasn't in the door to door work, anyway.

When I read the question, I laughed out loud, snorted and giggled. My DH asked why? I couldn't explain.

I never, ever thought of myself as an "ordained minister". Knowing, now, what that term literally means, *I* should have been able to legally marry people, etc. *I* couldn't. Nor could I recite one bible passage on cue.

    Mini-ministus,

YES, I am ordained by Jehovah's Witnesses, the Universal Life Church (twice!) and The Church of the Subgenius.

Our Sanctum Sanctorum is known as the First Church of Man Without God.

Contributions are gladly accepted; dispensations and tickets to heaven are always on sale at a DISCOUNT.

No I did not consider myself to be an ordained minister. Of course I didn't since I had the misfortune to be born without a penis.

    Yes Foolishly I did...

I even acted as a "Minister" my Grandmothers Funeral and I wasn't a MS either. LOL

I gave the Talk and Final Graveside Prayer LOL!

I felt totally Untrained or Worthy of acting like I was a Minister!

Today no one would ever think to ask Darth to say Grace LOL... I like it that way.Sneaky

I never considered myself to be any sort of a minister.

During the mid-1970s, they went through that phase where, for a few years, only elders were supposed to be referred to as "ministers." At the same time, the "Ministry School" was renamed the "Theocratic School", and the "Kingdom Ministry" was renamed the "Kingdom Service."

Then, several years later, the WTS did (yet another!) back-flip, and restored the term "minister" to include everybody. I remember being less than impressed with them for using some of the same arguments to restore the previous use of the term "minister", as they had used in justifying its change several years before.

It all made absolutely no impression on me that we were all now once more "ministers", as I think by then the old Bull#h%t Barometer was beginning to kick in!

    Bill.

Terry said, "JW's can't read Greek or hebrew at all, but, they carry around an Interlinear like it is a big deal."--- Maybe once upon a time they did, not anymore to my knowledge. My jw wouldn't even read the KIT and you have no idea how long it took for an elder to scare one up for him! So he finally gets it and says he got it for me, he didn't need to read it. Good grief! Apparently you apostates have ruined the book? the whole reason I wanted him to read it was to compare! Which he knew but I had already pointed out some of the glaring mistranlations and he knew where I got my information from. jw's may like to claim minister status or that they even like to 'study' yet they are afraid to read their own literature. What kind of minister is afraid to read literature put by his own denomination

If they truly believe they are 'ordained ministers' why don't they take advantage of the tax breaks available? Go to your local cpa and there will be brochures for self-employed, those who travel, living outside the US, etc..... and one for ministers. I really bit my tongue that first year and put my hands in my pockets not grab one of those and ask him if we should take advantage of any tax breaks ministers get. Gas for fs, wear and tear on car, .......

The call themselves "witnesses". Yeah? What did they actually witness?

They are witnesses to the fact that no Russell/Rutherford/Franz prophecy ever came true (or ever will).
