"Oh well. Aunt _ _ _ _ _ _ always used that as an excuse. She always liked to say that she was was baptized way too young. But she never really wanted to be a Witness anyway."
worst-explanation-ever.

If my Aunt was still alive I would CERTAINLY now have tried to reconnect with her.
But since she died before I awakened to The Truth about The Truth, I don't see much point in driving the spike into my elderly JW Mom's heart.
"Hey Mom, you shunnned your sibling for your whole life in a way that even CURRENT Watchtower rules don't completely endorse. "
(I think most elders I know wouldn't go along with a 6 year old getting baptized.)

No, but 9 or 10 seems perfectly acceptable.
What a horrible story. What an inablility on the part of JW's to look at anything with a clear perspective. I can't believe I was/am a part of that.

She obviously wasn't this one.
In the summer of 1946, I was baptized at the international convention in Cleveland, Ohio. Although I was only six years of age, I was determined to fulfill my dedication to Jehovah. That summer I served as a pioneer for the first time. I remember one morning placing 40 magazines with people seated at The Plaza in San Diego, California. My being tiny and talkative had a lot to do with it, I’m sure. WT March 1, 1992, page 26

"Although I was only six years of age,"
Wow Black Sheep!
Thanks for adding that perspective from a 1992 Watchtower.
While they didn't come out and directly encourage 6-year-olds getting baptized, it is certainly tacit approval IMO.

Every time I think I've heard it all, there's a new atrocity.
Worse than baptizing infants, IMO. A Catholic baptism "saves" the child. A JW baptism is a lifetime commitment, or else......

What a crazy cult.

Snoozy
No wonder they had such a growth...:>)
I wonder how many were at that assembly?
When I was in around 1965-1970's they would baptise the kids at 12 and 13..depending on how "Mature" they were. They didn't haveany rules other than they had to seem to know what they were doing...
I think as a group they may have said Yes to a few questions and that was it.
So if you didn't answer the questions when the others did would that null and void your baptism?
Snoozy...who was baptised Catholic as a baby..since I left the JW's and am no longer one I wonder if that makes me a Catholic again?
