Very sad, I liked Brother Barr's talks at the various assemblies. Even though he was not a leader on the GB, he was one of the few reasonable and loving members.

Barr's already busying himself dispensing new spiritual truths......

“ It is fitting, then, that one of the 24 elders, representing anointed ones already in heaven, should stir John's thinking by raising a pertinent question.'... This suggests that the resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today.'(Revelation, Its Grand Climax is at Hand, p. 125,1988)

Over 3000 hits- means for sure, a lot of JWs are reading this one. I wonder, if their pea brain realizes the old guard that gave them the spiritual milk they grew up on in the KH is all gone now. Accordingly, the WT promises of a new order that they were weaned on have essentially died, too.

I was at Bethel in the UK with Jack and Mildred... I will remember his voice most of all. The PUREST of English, like crystal clear water is spoken in the area around Inverness in Scotland.
Good Night, Jack.

no tears shed here, hope the old bastard rots in hell, I wonder if his brothers and sisters in Malawi who Barr and his cronies during secret Governing Body sessions voted to send them to endure rape/torture/false imprisonment/murder/tar and feathering would be sending their condolences? a nice guy or not still a piece of shit who sent misery to millions of lives sometimes not speaking up and following a party line is just as bad if not worse then the dictators he sat with over all those years.

He did a bit of a "farewell tour" in Scotland earlier this year - by all accounts he looked frail then but still surprisingly mentally sharp.
End of an era really - the last of the older generation. He was quite fondly looked upon by most JWs in the UK (and especially Scotland) as one of their own in a GB dominated by Americans.
A decent man - who knows what he did behind the scenes to moderate some of the more strident & self righteous GB members. Everyone will have their own views on how culpable he was.
May he rest in peace.

I looked at the WTS websites and nothing on jw-media.org, jw,org and watchtower.org. Wonder why?
