KM (Elder School) Brief Highlights

Besides the usual drivel there were a couple interesting things.

    1. An entire 1 hour discourse on helping our children become little innocent martyrs for the WT via

their flawed and unreasonable blood doctrine. They really hit this hard, prepare your children to

respect the sanctity of blood by coaching them on the scriptures that "prove" we shouldn't have

transfusions. Crossing out verbage on hospital admission forms before signing them. The speaker

went on and on. I mean really, are they serious with this??

    2. Bashing college (higher education) every chance they got. Even to the point of listing for a series of questions

that the other elders would ask if a child of an appointed man were to have children go to college. They did a total 180

on their "policy" and are 100% against higher education in any form.

The WT is really pushing it with that blood doctrine. A tutorial on how to allow your children to die.... lol. come on!

I think ISOCF said it the best(paraphrasing): God wants us to santify the representation of life( blood) more than life itself. In other words

your childs picture is more important than your actual child and you are to honor it above the child. Now thats logical isnt it??

I'll have to ask the brothers why they discourage college...

    • College will teach you historical reality and you'll realize that WT has completely fabricated world history?
    • College will teach you about biology and that Bible accounts as taught by WT are impossible?
    • College will teach you to do real research and critically analyze everything, something WT teaching couldn't survive?

Heck, I will add a couple of thoughts...

The second to last talk on Saturday is..."trust in the faithful and discreet slave" The speaker really emphasized how there is a problem with some elders who do not trust or obey the GB as the representative of God on earth. It was 1/2 hr of "following the the GB and their direction is the only way we will get from here to paradise." True quote.

The education talk was unenlightening. There are 10 questions that elders were asked to write down to review an appointed man's qualifications. If your kid goes to college there is a likelihood that you will be removed. It is crazy how anti education they are now.

Apparently there have been a number of kids that have received transfusions. It was interesting that the handout that was provided had specific instructions not to allow the information to be reproduced. The elders were told expect a court order in a parent declining a transfusion. The elders were also coached in this talk on what to say and what not to say to a judge.

Anyones else have some morsels from this great spiritual banquet?

Thanks for the highlights (or lowlights I should say).

1 - Blood - I'm really surprised they are pushing on the blood ban for children. I've had discussions with HLC reps that I'm friendly with on how they deal with kids. I recall being told that the "best" the HLC can do is require a court order for each pint of blood. The one person (whom I've known for a long time) told me that they really focus on adults and "mature minors" as opposed to younger kids. He was basically saying that the HLC typically won't make a big deal over young children because they can't really win. I'm wondering, was it directed at kids in the "mature minor" sort of age range (14+)?

2 - I KNEW they were really going to crack down on appointed men who allowed their kids to get an education. I know it has been reported here that during CO visits maybe a year or so ago, that it was in the outline that the CO reviews with the BOE that having a kid in college could call their "qualifications" into question. It sounded like it was handled differently depending on the CO but if they're putting it in the KM school program, they obviously want to clarify the position. My wife does not believe me when I tell her that it's possible to be removed for having a kid in college. In my congregation, ALL of the elders that have had kids old enough have sent their kids to college. And, there is one that currently has 2 kids in college (1 in community college and 1 in a regular 4 year school). All 3 of his kids were on the do 2 years of cc and then transfer the credits to a 4 year school plan which is actually a great way to save cash (in the US).

Any chance you could post the questions or PM me with them. I suddenly feel the need to work in service with this guy and ask a ton of questions about his kids prior to him going to the school over Christmas weekend!!

Edited to add: Also, there are a couple of MS who were appointed in the last year or so that were appointed WHILE attending college!! And, one of them is now a reg pioneer (couldn't find a full time position right away and he just graduated this year). WTF?

Wow, so you mean there's a significant enough minority of Elders out there who see through the scam?

On the other hand, you elders out there with college age kids, now's your chance to get out of those responsibilities!

Do they really want to lose MORE elders? WTH are they smoking?
