Gayle: Chances are high that the boy will "burn out." .......TRUE!
Chances are even higher that 'mommy' is goin to find another 'honey' due to neglect!
Ever wonder why the divorce rate is soo high among JW's? We have 3 going thru the process in our congregation alone. And those are the ones that I know of.
JW men are encouraged to 'push' until it hurts.

life is to short:
But I swear that the boy conducted the family worship, maybe I was so upset that I heard it wrong but that is what I thought they said. ........You probably heard right! Doesn't surprise me.
I've heard more than my share of ridiculous & fanatical statements made from JWs being interviewed at DCs.
Two years back the economy had just taken a turn for the worst. The housing bubble burst & jobs were hard to come by (as they are today). The part on the program had to do with putting 'Kingdom Interests First' or something along that line. The JW family head (being interviewed) stated that he walked away from his job simply because his boss would not give him Friday off to attend the convention. He did say that his boss gave him the option of taking off another Friday. OH No! He couldn't break up the convention. So he asked for his pinkslip. My wife & I couldn't believe what we had just heard. This guy was willing to put his family in financial jeopardy over one day!

So mom has to shut up and know her place while letting the 14 year old son lead.
Later on the kid will probably be making other bossy demands if the father is not around.
This is a psychological teaching aid also to impress upon young minds that women are inferior.

The mother can't lead the damn study because the 14-year-old son is baptized? for the sexism, for the son being baptized and only 14.

The WT sure knows how to give advice to familes that is detrimental to it's welfare.

LITS- Any man elder or not who puts an adult load of responsibility on his young teenage son is not a man at all - but an absolute wuss and coward. I truly believe that in my family , my older brother by being SO INVOLVED in elder activities ( he's regional accounts handler for the RBC & was at Bethel 8 years ) - it caused his only son an only child to resent the JW organization as he matured to his late 20's. Now my brother and his wife are gripping because their only child, my nephew, has stopped attending meetings the last 2 years and grew a goatee and longer hair and started his own rock band. Good for my nephew, he's using his own mind.
It's what my brother gets for regarding the WT society and God's alleged organization as more important than developing a close relationship with his son. I hope my brothers son teaches my older brother what REAL love is

blondie writes:
Actually, baptism was not a requirement of Judaism to be a member.
Exactly. To be a member of the religion of the Jews, little boys had to surrender their foreskin at the tender age of eight days, in exchange for a name and to be welcomed as part of the "tribe". In other words, to become a member, their "member" had to be mutilated.

*** w02 7/15 p. 27 Questions From Readers ***What, though, if a young son in the family is a dedicated, baptized servant of Jehovah God? Since the son is a member of the Christian congregation, he should receive instruction from its male members. (1 Timothy 2:12) If his father is a believer, the son should be taught by him. However, if the father is absent, then the mother should wear a head covering if she conducts a Bible study with the young baptized son and the other children. Whether she calls on the baptized son to pray at such a study or at mealtime is left to her discretion. She may feel that he is not yet sufficiently capable and may choose to offer prayer herself. If she chooses to pray on such an occasion, she should wear a head covering.
*** lv p. 210 Head Coverings—When and Why? ***If she were to pray or to teach in the presence of her minor baptized son, she would likewise wear a head covering, not because he is the head of the family, but because of the authority granted to baptized male members of the Christian congregation.

this one used to make me laugh,
grown women reaching for the laundry pile to wear dishcloths and y-fronts on their head for the pre field service get togethers
