I have heard people say that nelly and I don't doubt it, but I never saw that in the 20 congregations I attended. It could be that pioneers were encouraged to have a proper scarf in their bag and one was provided in the room where they met for FS during the week. There were few men who went out during the week and pioneer sisters were assigned to moderate the group. So the women always knew they needed to have a respectful headcovering.

blondie I have not been in as many congregations as you actually really only four my home hall then the hall we went to once I got married then Bethel back to my home hall and the current one when I quit going. In my home hall and also the second there were sisters who would go into the bathroom and grab a paper towel and put it on their heads. I think it was mostly because there was almost always a brother there to conduct and they just assumed he would always be there so if he missed then they were stuck.

And I know what you mean about the WT saying the moms should conduct, it was a very strange experience from the stage. The father was gone a lot as he was head of the RBC and then being an elder on top of it. They had little kids like five and eight along with the older boy, I was sitting in my seat thinking all these years of them growing up you are missing, seriously you cannot get theses years back. But he was giving his all to Jehovah and that was the most important thing. It was a sacrifice that would bring rich rewords in the new system.
