most people are fully aware of many elements of christmas being pagan. The tree to most folks is simply a seasonal decoration at this miserable time of year. I do not see anyone bowing down before it and offering incense or sacrifice any more than JW's worshipping pictures of their family in their home. but what i do see is people putting there hand in their pocket and giving of their time to the poor whether or not they are religious. Christains understand more than most of the paradox of christmas and they recognise the Lord was not born on this date but use this time of year to highlight how important Christs birth was for all and to glorify his birth as the heavenly Angels did. yes his birth was celebrated and announced by Angels. Luk 2:8-15.

JW's do not want to celebrate anything to do with Jesus ,they do not even celebrate the Lords last supper but observe some pagan ritual of passing the bread and wine without partaking, very occultist. and why we are on the subject of paganism and idolatry, who set those old guys up to be worshipped at bethel, not me.

Ren/Bator still has not answered why Jesus chose the Wt as his earthly channel in 1919 while they were celebrating Chrsitmas.

They used to use crosses too. Refinement takes time when you have 1700 years of embedded Christian/pagan mix to carve away. Christians faced constant refinement throughout the Greek scriptures did you think throwing off the iron tendrils of 1700 years of apostasy from trinitarians would be overnight?

You put false expectations on Witnesses.

The point is they were shown to be refineable from these false teachings and that includes the false pagan celebrations Christendom is so full of.

And being reformed from "Satanalia-mithras-winter solstice-commercialism-unreal Santa-Christ birth lie" Celebration was inevitable And happened quite quickly too considering how imbedded it had got.

The step from finding God's Biblical truths and principles and then applying them is a massive one as God's people and really showed the growing maturity of Jehovah's Witnesses

You want this false, commercial, sacred day that is so popular these days with all it's fakery now that you are no longer Witnesses?

It certainly reflects the step from truth to falseness very clearly!

    My reply:

Thank you. However you are simply talking out of your @$$ again. According to the "FDS" in Jehovah's Witnesses in the Divine Purpose, on page 91, one of the factors that made the WT unclean and led to them being sent away into Babylonish captivity was "celebrating pagan holdiays such as Christmas;"...crosses are also mentioned in this pub. Refinements is bs. Fleshly Israel was freed from captivity AFTER they gave up their idolatrous practices. The org itself states they were unclean because of these things and that is why they were allowed to go into captivity. So, it is completely illogical to conclude that they were not only freed from captivity while still practicing the things that got them sent away BUT also appointed head of Christ's earthly affairs. Refinements is irrelevant. They never gave up what got them sent away in the first place.

Reniaa, why not go take my earlier suggestion and go sit on a railroad track and read a Watchtower. It couldn't make you any worse than you already are.

The apostles had no problem condemning false celebrations around them why should I. It is not a kindness to accept false celebrations that Jehovah himself hates.

Would you take a false idol that has all the sacrificial items to a pagan God still on it from a false religion then try and give it to Jehovah? you cannot white-wash idolatry then make it over to Jehovah or his son.

My reply: Baseless ramblings...modern-day celebrations that no longer carry their original meanings. Rom 14 give us latitude on days regardless of origin.

My reply: Roman 14 makes your illustration irrelvant. Origin is not issue, spirit in which done is.

You are wrong on every point here Reniaa.
