Why is the lady in top right not paying attention? She's checking something else out. Could the clock be that low?
My guess is that she is checking someone out, maybe slightly flirty, possibly the visiting speech holder. She also sits one seat away from her husband the "count the people" elder.

When I used to carry the mic, I'd sometimes slightly stroke the pole, just to see if anyone was paying attention. Nada.

Yup, we still have mikes like that! They bring them out quite regularly when the radio mikes have flat batteries.
Mike guy is not wearing a suit, also allowed at our congregation due to the lack of brothers. In fact a suit is no longer a requirement when giving a talk, just got to use what you have!

Eastern Europe, maybe, but definetly not Romania. If the pic was taken in Romania, it should have at least one fat person in it.
There is a special department at Bethel NY who takes all the pictures in a special studio. Some of them are later photoshop-ed. All those in the pics are JWs who willingly give their accord to be pictured. I saw the entire process on one of the dvds from this year. I think I may be still in possesion of a copy.
