    Good thinkin' Alanv,

bring doubt with ya, stir the pot just so, be careful now, cause you are still in need of a roof over your head.

I think she needs to contact her county's human services department and see if there is any help for her family. They might have short term places for them to stay and other services to help them get back on their feet.

Slidenslide, you shouldn't have to stay somewhere where you're being treated as a child and things are being required of you that violate your intergrity and sensiblities.

    Hi there Josie,

this religion preys on people in a weaken state, whether it's physical, mental, or economical

I compare them to the Lion that's layin low waiting to pounce on and devour thier prey.

( I know you remember that illustration ) seems like they took lessons straight from Satan

on how to prey on the weak. Heres a qoute from the Reasoning of the Scriptures book on the bottom of page 206 it states:

"But why do the Witnesses call repeatedly even at homes of people who do not share their faith ?

They do not force their message on others. But they know that people move to new residences and that circumstances of people change................. People themselves change; serious problems in life may stimulate an awareness of spiritual need. "

Hey slipnslide, get a hold of their reasoning book and show them the lie about not forcing their message on anyone, that book is suppose to speak for all witlesses

    Mrsjones:

I really enjoy reading your comments because you think a lot like me. I have explored other avenues and I have a small wait ahead of me. The good news is that my husband was able to secure employment. It's not the best thing, but it is something that will bring a little something in for now. I am dilligently looking for something myself. If it was not for my husband, and he did ask beforehand, I would just say to hell with it. This way we can save money because we don't have to pay any rent. I asked my father-in-law this morning point blank if his goal really was to get appointed as an elder again and he stated that "It does not matter what role I pay, I just want to serve where they need me". I do believe that, but I also know that as an elder, he thinks that he can get the respect they thinks that he deserves. Well, that's his deal. My goal is to move into our small apartment (grateful for that, by the way) and just live our lives whether I choose to go back to the meetings or not. This has really helped me because I never thought that I would face being treated like a child again. No one should have to have someone try to control their spiritual lives if it is not in their heart condition to do so. This may help someone else who might face this ridiculous decision.

Oh good! I'm happy to hear that and it's calms me down a bit. I was getting a bit pissed about your situation, especially because it has a couple of shades of what we've been through.
