    Hey Nicolas,
Just want to put in my two cents. Like many have already mentioned, we know how you feel, at least we have been through the same re-adjustment you have.

We know what it feels like to "have no friends in this world." But you know what? That situation is temporary. Pretty soon you will build up a network of friends. TRUE FRIENDS that like you for who you are, not just for what your religious beliefs are. In fact, you have already started to obtain friends -- the posters at this site are your "online" friends, and that is a great place to start.

As for not knowing what to do with your life: I don't know how old you are, but I'm 34, have a professional degree, and am still asking myself the same question. But I look at it as an opportunity: there are so many fantastic, interesting options that I don't know where to begin!!! LIFE IS FANTASTIC once you have freed yourself of the millstone that is the JW religion.

Your profile says you are Canadian. From one Canuck to another, no, make that as one concerned human being to another, I want to help. I HAVE BEEN WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW, and got past it. One thing that really helped me was to talk about it, and I would be happy to talk to you, if you want to. My email is open. If you want to chat on the phone, email me and I'll give you my telephone number. If you live near Toronto, maybe you, me, and "Beans" can get together for a tea/coffee/beer/meal sometime.

I know it's hard. It's VERY hard. For many years, I too was taught not to associate with "Worldly" people.

We were taught no TV, no movies, no cecular music, no sports,....
Only go to church and read your Bible.

They also taught against worldy churches....Baptist, church of Christ, Catholic, Assembly of God, about any of them you'd care to name.

I am now socially illiterate. I don't know anyone anymore. I don't know WHAT to do, HOW to do it, and No one to do it WITH.
    Practically speaking: I'm lost.

I'm in the same boat you are. But don't give up. There's hope. There's gotta be.

I don't belong to either world anymore.
I'm Too holy for the world, and too worldly for the Church.

Let's all get together and form our own world! lol.

Well, it was another painful day for me. When I came back home, I was so tired that I could fall asleep in a minute. I still don't know if it's a physical problem or a psychological problem. I saw a doctor and I had a blood sugar test to see if I was diabetic but everything was ok and the doctor told me that it was caused by stress. I'll have to see a psychologist once again if things doesn't get better and I'll need a lot of courage because I had a therapy and I thought that I was ok, so I had stopped the therapy.

While it is true that we all feel down and blue from time to time, there is a point at which it interferes with our lives to an extent that we suffer needlessly. Your comments are in line with how someone would feel if they were going through a period of depression.

Take a minute to glance at the online test that NYU School of Medicine provides to help determine if your symptoms are consistant with clinical depression. It gives you the results immediately, and you can also take it over the course of a few days to see how you do over time:

I'm not sure if I can call it a period of depression since I've felt that way since almost 5 years and it is getting worst now. I know that I have the social phobia disorder but I still haven't found a good way to overcome my phobia.
