    your not alone Justhuman 14,

    a lot of young people wasted time and potential for the organization

    and the only thing they got in return was brow beatings from the podium " are you doing enough "

    This magazine cover is a prime example of why the 1975 argument JWs make holds no weight at all. The statements made in this magazine were outright prophecies attributed to Jesus and God, and this, less than 10 years after creating a lot of needless hype by 'hinting' that 1975 'might' be an important date and telling kids they'd 'never grow old' in this system of things. It is a demonstration of the underlying problem--not the errors themselves, but the attitude that drives them to make these errors. They just don't care about truth or about humility or just saying, we don't know. They have to appear to have some special knowledge about the end, and to give themselves room to maneuver, they narrow the end down to a 'generation' so that no specific year is mentioned. Then they have the nerve to toy with what 'generation' means again and again.

    The fact that this teaching was just updated this year--after being updated before in 1995--is an indication that this is not merely 'old history' but an indication that holy spirit has nothing to do with this understanding of Matt. 24:34. A tiresome old point. But important enough to be restated again and again. After all, the 1984 'generation' teaching is still in the Reasoning book...

    asilentone, thanks!

    The ones I knew from the magazine cover were very nice people and obviously very dedicated to the Watchtower. Every Brooklyn Bethelite from the 70s knew Sophie. At least, if you ever stayed home sick. She was the one who checked in on you. And, if you were too ill to go down for the noon meal, she ordered your soup. The soup was, as I remember, awful and was a great cure all. One never looked forward to eating it again!

    cabasilas, Have you ever met Johnny Errichetti before? I was thinking maybe you have met him before but you forgot his name?

    Good thread. Yes indeed, they are all dead. Not just MOSTLY dead, but ALL dead. Not even a grunt or a groan. Just younger JW members still being duped by an organization lying to it's people. Millions now living will ALL die just like they did in 1925 and always have since the beginning of time

    @asilentone,

    I'm not sure. I was in Brooklyn in the mid-seventies and then at WTFarm for one year. Where did he work?

    For any new readers of the thread, do you recognize any of the other people on that cover?

    Is Carey Barber or John Barr in this pic? (They came to Brooklyn after I went to the Farm.)
