:What is this overlapping generation crap?

Simple. It's called "damage control." New lies replace old lies in the hopes that folks will forgive the old lies and believe the new lies until they are replaced by even newer lies.

    Like I said, it's simple!

The problem for the current "young" Governing body is that if they cannot link themselves to 1914 ,and the "choosing" by Jesus in 1919, they have no reason to exist..

The problem they have with linking themselves to 1914 is that 1914 has no backing from scripture.

The average mind-controlled Dub cannot be made to see this.

I have to admit that the overlapping generation , obvious crap that it is, is still a lot better than what they were teaching when Jesus supposedly chose them in 1919.

Why don't they just come out and say it's an invisible generation? invisibility can trump any logical explanation. They've been doctoring that teaching up since rutherfords millions now living will never die. They even would rather say it was beneficial in keeping everyones eye on the prize with a sense of urgency.

In coming up with this "ovelapping generation" story, the WTS is in actual fact admitting to us that it has no idea what the hell it is talking about:

    - without actually saying so in so many words.

    Bill.

PS: The saying "If you can't blind with science, you can always try to baffle with bullshit" comes very much to mind over this one!

Trueone- What else would you expect from a church that states that God chose them because they are the foolish things of the world? Their dogma on this is pretty whacky , the way I see the bible is that the remnant are all murdered by the hand of world rulers so them saying that they simply walk out of this world is nothing but a lie .It clearly says so in Revelation that the last one must die by the ax then the 4 winds of destruction are let lose . The problem here is that they have an increasing number of new remnant showing up eating and drinking at the memorial.

I JUST happened to be looking at this forum...Yeah, I know it's wrestling action figures but hey...I am weird like that...Anyway what caught my eye is HOW ALL of these people VIEWED a generation! Did they view it as overlapping? No. Actually they view it as every 10 years is a generation.

LOL - Luv the picture Outlaw!

    Wikipedia defines generation as:

    gen·er·a·tion /?jen?'raSH?n/ Noun

    1. All of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively: "one of his generation's finest songwriters". 2. The average period, generally considered to be about thirty years, during which children grow up and have children of their own Ahhh, the rules, the new light, is this an elaborate fantasy or a parallel universe...?

It can actually make sense in a "twist-the-scriptures" kind of way:

Many people have known their great grandparents. So, if you are one of those people who knew your great grandfather and your great grandfather was around 20 yrs. old in 1914, and your grandfather was born in 1924, and your father in 1954, and you in 1984, then there you have the overlapping generations.

Even though each one represents a personal generation, the overall generation of people that knew great grandpa (including you) is included in the "larger picture" generation. You will be influenced by that 1914 generation because you have had direct personal contact with those who saw the World War I (1914) generation arrive.

When the generation that had actual personal contact with the 1914 generation dies off (probably yours or your son's using the example above), then supposedly the end will have come. That over all "big picture" generation will not completely die off before the end arrives.

    Is that explanation pretzel-ly enough?
