Farkel,
You have passed through a lot and seen a lot and your presence here is greatly appreciated :)
I do have a question though, have you forgiven your Mother and if not, do you think you will be able to?

Yes, I have forgiven her, but for my own mental health's sake will never have any contact with her again. Five minutes with her and she can send me into a depression for days. This has happened hundreds of times and I no longer will allow it into my life.

Farkel,
I am glad that you were able to forgive her and very saddened that her mental state is such that you can't be with her.
Thanks for sharing.Looking forward to the next installment.

It takes courage to make that kind of decision. Sometimes it is a life-saving one. Well done.
(gotta remember to cross my ts and dot my is in a Farkel thread)

I can totally relate to this. I enliken it to the Dementors from the Harry Potter books/movies. They suck all the goodness right out of everything. I had to limit my exposure to my parents once they joined the cult. They became toxic. Now that I've had to be around my Dad more, I am finding it difficult to barrier off the negativity. I need some "Expecto Patronum" big time!
Farkel,
Your work is always a pleasure to read.
The story of your mom reminds me of the day the Debil broke down the church doors breathing fire. Everyone ran for their lives except for one old man sitting by himself. Saintan said to the man, “Don’t you know who I am?” The man replied, “Yes. I know who you are. My wife is your sister, and you don’t scare me.”
Hope all is well with you brother!

Thank you for writing your story...can't wait to read the rest. Has your mother ever been officially diagnosed with a mental illness or personality disorder? My guess wuld be borderline personality disorder.
This is the first time I've seen this thread, and now I've read on another that you won't be continuing your story. That saddens me and I'm sure a lot of others as well. You have a gift for words and storying telling that is admirable, and your story will serve most members here who read it. Don't deprive the majority of understanding you better because of a tiny minority who have some bone to pick with you. When I read this installment I marveled at the way you wrote drew me into your world, and I want to experience more of your world vicariously through your story, so please continue with it on this board.
