Seriously now Satanus. First, you could go through quite a few hundred in a single shooting session.

Second, you should have enough ammo to last the lifetime of a barrel and a 22 barrel could last tens of thousands of rounds.

Third, you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket. If you lose some for whatever reason you still have a backup supply.

Fourth, it makes for a good investment.

BTW, what is wrong with renouncing violence? Isn't that what all the law makers are calling for? Why not sign a pledge? Just because Glenn Beck thought of it doesn't make it not a good idea. I'm shocked frankly that you, of all people wouldn't want to sign a non-violence pledge.

The Founding Fathers selected their words very carefully in writing the Constitution. In describing a "well-regulated militia," they were not talking about every Tom, Dick and Farkel who could get their grubby hands on a lethal weapon. No, they specified a "well-regulated militia." Check out the meaning of "regulated" in order to grasp the full import of the second amendment.

The FF were no fools, no rubes. But they knew that there would be fools and rubes to come.

It is time that we "regulated" and "regulated well" the people who can bear arms. We no longer need a citizens' militia - we pay a fool's fortune to have a standing army available 24/7 to invade oil-producing countries. Unfortunately, the FF could not possibly foresee everything.

Just to make an comparison of the availability of guns here in Canada and the States. I live in Vancouver which has a population of

about 2 million people including adjoining municipalities and I can only think of possibly 2 sport shops where you can purchase guns.

Even at that the resictions and procedures to purchase a hand gun is highly scrutinized by the police.

There are at least 3 or more steps and procedures before they give you a go ahead to purchase.

And no they do not allow a person to walk around with a gun on their person anywhere they want to .

Now in comparison how many places in a city of similar size in the States would you be able to buy a gun ?

I know the answer because I travel across the border to go shopping from time to time.

Maybe the writers of the Constitution should have written in that it is the apparent right for all citizens to bear arms to those who

only have proven themselves mentally fit before the majority of the population..

I don't think the men were thinking that one day the US would have over 300 million people

living in their newly created country and I doubt they knew little of anything about human psychology either.

Something about being a lying advocate of violence that makes a sudden renouncing of said a bit suspect. Particularly with such loaded language.

I listened to Limbaugh when he was the only choice (besides Schlesinger) and I didn't worry about my blood pressure. Beck I hear and see enough of in my searches and the few moments I can stomach on any given week. He's a side show, and if you are looking for a circus so be it. If you want some facts, go elsewhere.

Think about it. He apparently had 3 30 round magazines on him. What if each clip had only held 10 rounds? He would have had to carry 9 clips and reload after each one. Logically, lives would have been saved.

I don't think that statement is a given.
