Are Elders trianed in incompetence?

Here's some experiences of some people I knew in the truth who had personal problems. Who were they to turn to , why the mature Elders , even better you could write to the society.
So what happened?

Friend 1.
Friend number one knows he is gay ,he likes men big boys. This causes obvious problems as a witness. But he confides in a few friends.
One of which is the presiding overseer.
What does the presiding overseer do ?He tells all the other elders in an elders meeting.
My friend is now red with embarrassment at having been yanked out of the closet.
The elders can no longer do up their shoe laces, as they are afraid he might take it the wrong way, if you know what I mean.

Friend 2.
Has a problem with spanking his monkey. No not his pet but his penis.
What to do about it. Why not write to the society?
Letter comes back , one to him another to the presiding overseer (not the same as the first diff. cong).
Not very amused that his secret is out he is even less amused when said elder shows this letter to all the other elders.
Young brother can no longer use the toilets in the hall without suspicion from the elders.

I'm glad I didn't tell them about my ....... habit.

Should have approached the elders. All Correspondence
between an Elder Body and the Society are shared
with the entire elder body.

I can’t imagine how friend #1 could have for a moment not understood the consequences of telling an elder that he was gay!

Friend #2 is a bit naïve also.

In fact, they are what we in the industry like to call "Extreme Repression and Harsh Judgement".

friend #1 should have read his bible.
the scriptures about going to the older
men of the congergation, the older mens responsibility
to keep the congergation clean...actually they were
very loving towards the congergation and towards your friend.

Friend 1 was not a practising homosexual so why was it anyone elses business?

Friend 2 sent a letter about a problem.Why do 12 elders need to know his problem?

Okay, now we have a little clarification but a lot is still left unsaid. Exactly what did he tell the P.O.? Did this guy have 'privileges' in the cong? Was he perhaps being considered for such? Had the other elders heard some things about this guy and had expressed concern about it to the P.O.? Was there a danger that perhaps some of the younger brothers might be put a risk being alone witht his guy? Lots and lots of maybe's here...

Friend #2. Privileges again?

both friends acted foolishly....the elders and the WTS were doing their jobs according to WTS guidelines.
