Welcome to the forum AiAi! I'm sorry your family is shunning you. The shunning policy of the org is evil and cruel. Such love they teach.

Your family must keep up appearances. They may well have thought that being baptized young you deserved a break. Now that you are an adult they are holding you to the party line. You sound ok with it. Glad to hear from you. Do post more. Welcome.
Welcome AiAi
3Mozzies: Thanks! And AiAi developed a few years ago from a misspelling of my initials - AA. Then my Chinese wife siezed onto it because she thought 'love love' was somehow cute or something :/
Wasanelder Once: You are probably pretty close to being right, although of course I am not alright with their shunning but knew it was likely when I left. And initially when I DA they said they would take a hard stance on it...I did get my father to admit if there was 'new light' tomorrow allowing it he would talk to me...but then they used seeing my kids as an excuse to ignore the policy almost immediatly. they said it was family business and exempt.
However it has been stronger than ever in the last month. all in the same few days I let slip to my 'worldly' aunts and uncles what the BORG makes nice people like my parents do to family that leave AND I told my parents I had enlisted in the army. Now I am no longer acting like an apostate, they say I definately am one. Oh and my kids are no longer quite a good enough excuse to say hi to me anymore...
Welcome here AiAi!
