When the Elders in my old Congo. wanted to make up a rule they always dressed it up by quoting some scripture, I wonder in this case what justification for the rule was given ?
Did Paul mention to Timothy anything about how a man looking to be appointed should spend his (not the WT's) leisure time ?
This latest invasion into personal choice and freedom may make some think, I do hope so.

What with the constant spittle-flying screeds against technology in general, and facebook in particular, by the WTS (and local BOEs such as the one described in the OP)...
The mental image I have of the Society now is that of a wild-haired bearded man dressed in rags, running to and fro at the beach, waving his arms and jumping up and down, warning the tide to stop coming in....
"Or else you'll lose your privileges! Did you hear me? I said your PRIVILEGES!"
And the tide just keeps coming in....
