Freedom of speech does mean that crazy fantasies ought to be promoted by schools. You would not shout "freedom of spech" if a holocaust denier wanted to promote his views at your children's school would you?

All sorts of crazy people have the guts to shout their delusions from the rooftops, its no reason to admire them for their ranting.

Crazy fantasies according to who? I find a lot that is accepted by many in the scientific community to be fantastic. If we want our kids learn how to think, they need to be presented with ALL sides and then shown how to reason them out into a proper conclusion.

shout their delusions from the rooftops

And again, who decides what is delusion and what is not? It's this kind of talking that leads to people thinking that atheists claim to "know it all" when they really there are very few solid conclusions.

It is acceptable to say that loaded language is being used by the Watchtower. But what I see in alot of atheist circles is their own form of loaded language. Instead of reasonable, rational discussion, there is talk of delusion and character attacks.

That being said, because I believe in freedom of speech, I think atheists should be able to "shout their delusions" from the rooftops as well. My son will know both sides. And hopefully I can teach him how to think instead of tell him WHAT to think.

Young earth creationism and global floods are crazy fantasies according to everything that science knows for sure. Ignorance of the facts and religious dogma are the only reasons anybody would side with Mr Ham's foolishness, he is an embarassment to the vast majority of christains. Let him publish his evidence in a peer reviewed journal and if it can survive the process then lets teach it.

Wow did Nietzsche really say that! I have always shyed away from Nietzsche and his infamous nihilism. Perhaps its time to look into the void?

Barry Lynn has my utmost respect. He has carved out a niche in civil liberties law, a very crowded and distinguished field. We need lawyers like Lynn now. His quote about Noah not needing a government subsidy is right on point. No one is interfering with First Amendment FRee Exercise. Tax exemption is support from the government. Why should I support a view of creation that only simpletons could relish?

The lines have been blurred for too long. The Founders were deists, not Christians in the traditional sense. It is a very slippery slope. Scalia should be the last one to carve out original intent. Catholics and Jews were considered beyond the pale and were definitely not considered candidates for any public office when the const'n was ratified.

Once govt is in religion, it influences it. Private funding is available. The Garden of Eden had no public funding.

In my opinion this amounts to mental abuse of children. Ken Ham is a menace and the parents in this audience are neglectful.
