In this country, Dad had every right to stand on the corner with his Watchtower magazines. It was the ignorant hicks that beat him that are the ones that needed condemning. To say the gay man who wants to be treated fairly or that Dad or any other JW of the time standing on the corner peacefully (1st amendment in action) exercising thier rights should have cowered instead, that they were "stupid" is to be an ass.

Why would ANYONE stand up for their rights and the rights of others...? It could be dangerous !
You could end up dead or famous or make history by changing, opening peoples minds. Or, all of those things.
It has ALWAYS taken at least ONE (1) person -- to stand up first. To take that first step...must be scary, but, what if...throughout history...no one did ???
