We had a a man df'd for sexually abusing his step daughter. He refused to admit his guilt and made repeated efforts to get reinstated. The CO said he would never be reinstated. However he changed congregation and when the CO changed he asked again and was reinstated. It seems to me it has more to do with the higher ups and s arbitary rather than following any rules.
How many times can you be rejected for reinstatement ??

We had a guy who was DF'd in another Congo, he tried every year for twelve years to get reinstasted. He was DF'd for fraud, I think he had ripped off some of the Elders in his old Congo, so they said no, until presumably he made some kind of recompense (?)
I think actually it is more likely he got the ear of a sympathetic C.O who persuaded the Elders to reinstate him on the basis of time passed and him being in no position to recompense them, by this time he was jobless and quite ill.
As soon as he was reinstated he started Aux. Pioneeering. Too ill to work though.
Long time , twelve years. Didn't really change him, or accomplish anything.

When I was an elder , we were told that the Societies"golden rule" with regard to reinstatement was "three strikes and you are out" - ie we were to reject the first two reinstatement requests made and accept the third. This assumed that the DF one was attending all the meetings & was showing some degree of a repentant attitude and had (or claimed to have) stopped smoking / committing fornication etc.
Of course , the average JW isn't aware of the system so can often get quite upset when they are rejected a couple of times. Sometimes they complain to the CO or the Branch which can go either way (to be honest , it usually hardened the attitude of the original JC , so I wouldn't recommend it.)
I haven't heard of anyone repeatedly being refused reinstatement. Maybe if it is a notorious case (eg paedophilia) it would take a bit longer.
Judicial cases are a mess - they are subject to the vagaries of three elders , of often hugely varying abilities , prejudices & attitudes. I recall one JC I was involved in where we had a 84 year old elder on the committee who virtually slept through the whole proceedings and asked only one completely irrelevant question. When we dismissed the accused & discussed the case , he just shrugged and said 'I don't know - you brothers decide' when I asked him if his opinion was that the accused should be DFd or not. Depressing...

Your dad might be speculating. But overall, if the elders don't feel you have been punished long enough, they will keep that label on you as long as it feels right to them. Remember things are about APPEARANCE a good deal in that organization.

You can be rejected as many times as you submit a request to be reinstated....there was one PO that said that a certain brother would never be reinstated as long as he, the PO, drew breath.

Want to get back into the congregation:
1. move to a distant congregation where no one knows you, and I mean No One.
2. show up at a meeting or two and wait for someone to offer you a bible study
3. play stupid for a while, but make reasonable progress in your studies and meeting attendance
4. Don't let on you were a witness or Df'd
5. Even if you are found out if you have progressed enough in the "truth" they will quietly reinstate you without even making an announcement to the congregations so that they don't look like theyve been fooled
6. quietly fade away
worked for me!

It makes me cringe reading about experiences like this...that they have the audacity to be so cruel in God's name...diabolical (literally).

hey hoser, did you get baptized again? i was dfd in another country, and now playing dumb 'studying" only because it's familiar and haven't made my mind up completely about doing the "shame walk" which totally defeats the purpose of going back for me, which is, enjoying the companionship of the people in the congregation. i just don't know how to go about it...
