I am new on here and I am JW...but with lots of doubt. However I am wondering is this a site to actually discuss the meetings and vital matters of concern or is this a site to joke about the JW's? I love my God Jehovah, and don't wish to insult any religion. I want insight on why current JW's have reservations, as I strongly do about the organization. No I don't feel refreshed after a meeting. I feel trapped, coerced, brainwashed.

    Deeraq - Welcome!

You will find a bit of everything here, but mostly you will find sincere JWs and ex-JWs who have the same feelings as you............please stick around!

I would only find the ones refreshing when I would get a phone call at about 6:30 PM telling me that the meeting is cancelled.

The meetings were so boring and the Watchtower was the worst. We had all the answers and then that box at the end " Do you Remember"

I could have just walked out then but the super fine sheep gaurds were always blocking the exits till we had got all the dose of garbage from the platform. They looked a bit like this.. HHG

I had to listen to all the comments from the same old few at the meetings week in week out. I ended up looking into thin air and the not interested look was more than evident to others.HHGboard

    LOL @ HHG's cat pick.

It was the fact that I didn't find the meetings refreshing were one of things that started to make me go "hmmm". I used to read that scripture where Jesus said his yoke would be light, yet that was the complete opposite of attending the meetings (and being a witness in general.)

How can it be "refreshing" when you're stressing about giving a talk in the TMS, or feel obliged to put your hand up and answer lest Elder Superior asks why you didn't answer up that day, or just the stress of getting there on time after working all day, rushing home, inhaling some dinner, have a shower and be dressed in time to pick up Sis NoCar and get to the Hall in time!!!

Broken Promises: be dressed in time to pick up Sis NoCar

Oh Geez, I completely forgot about this part. I especially hated it when other people would volunteer me to give rides, and I couldn't find a graceful way out. It's not that I didn't care or wanted to be mean, I was just always so freaking tired. But some of the nocars took advantage, and you'd find yourself being at their beck and call. I didn't mind helping, but some became so extremely demanding. I started to see their involvement in the org. as a way to get social services. Maybe I'm just a selfish bitch. I guess I'm okay with that.

how can you be refreshed when you rushed to get there and missed tea. You had to drag two children who didn't want to go either to the hall. You had a last minute scramble for the books and realised that you hadn't pre studied and it was oral review. You got to the hall and all child friendly seats had been taken. You spent the next 2 hours being made to feel inadequate in your spiritual life and old ones with no kids made you feel like a bad parent. Finally at the end you had to get the over tired children home to bed and they would fall asleep in the car and then be tearful when you had to wake them up to get them in doors.

    Meetings were a stress fest.
