They park across the street to my house. But just shortly after we moved in, I was not home, and my husband answered the door when they came. They have not been back since.

I had lunch today with two long term residents of my town (I've been here 8 years). I was contacted once and neither of my friends could ever remember having JWs stop by. Mormons they both said but no JW's. I'm sure they were visited but not home, but it's curious. We have a population of 7,000 and you really can't hide. Probably find the JW's at the donut shop (counting time) along with the local police. Come to think about it that's an insult to the police.

We moved into our current property almost a year ago and they have called twice in that time. The first time my husband was outside and saw them and they gave us an invite to the three day assembly which is a two hour drive away!
The second time I was on the 'phone working from home and heard the door so went to the door whilst holding the 'phone as I thought it was a parcel to sign for. Therefore I couldn't speak to the two old ladies who called but they left me a tract. However, you know the score they looked the sweetest old ladies so if I could have chatted I wouldn't have the heart to say what I really thought.
However, prior to moving they hounded us because we had stopped attending the meetings. I couldn't wait to move as though I tried not to answer the door I got caught a few times. So annoying.

They were coming monthly for the past while to check on us (we're fading), but since the snow, we haven't seen them for 3 months!

I knew since 3 years ago that the field service in western countries is closing to a halt. No more studies, no more return visits and if they accept a magazine is'l like a holiday. The brothers and sisters in western countries were overjoyed if someone would just said hello and accepted a magazine. People in such countries have no interest in what the JWs have to say. In less developed countries, however, the field service goes like buttered. They have studies, return visits, they place literature, people show genuine interest. We had in our congo a family which came from Spain to serve in a Romanian-speaking congregation. The wave of imigrants from less developed countries, seeking work in the western world, has drawn the JW's attention towards these newcomers. That is why the native population can breathe freely for now.

I had them call about 6 weeks ago, may be little longer than that, this was the first time in about 2 years.
I was in a hurry to go out and could not talk to them, they tried they old intro "love the garden, great setting amounst the trees" sort of BS, same crap I used to us,LOL, they then started on about how bad things were in the world, thay hadn't even told me they were jws, when I told them I knew all about what jws were all about, took them by surprise.
At that point I told them I had to go & left them to it.

We live in a small town west of Ft. Worth, population about 27,000. Been here since 1984. Have lived in three diffrent locations. Not one tract, mag or cold call from any jw's.

I have only had JWs accidently knock once. I am a do not call. I have had SDA's a few times, Catholics once a year, and about once a month people selling electricity or phone plans. To me they are all the same - iritating hawkers.

Do you remember the days, up until a couple of years ago, when there were always witnesses on every street corner on the main drag. Every early morning, you could count on it. Then off to the mtg for service at 9:30!!! Now, never see anyone out! Must be losing it's lustre I guess.
