And, so I would simply throw it right back in Jehovah's face. "Jehovah, can you justify before me why you refused to give me the opposite sex despite specifically making me with the need for it?" And, any crap like "You didn't have it coming" means "Well, that's the same reason why I was not in full time service." (And why I didn't do anything at all.)
Give me a pio-sneer slip, and I will have to waste the electricity to shred it--instead of putting it on my refrigerator, I will put it in my shredder. And, if they waste the electricity to give me another, I will simply waste the electricity to shred that one, too.

The title of "Pioneer" is not Biblical, and has just become a superficial carrot for anyone who is not comfortable with their spirituality.
Very true. I haven't been to a meeting or in field service in a couple of years now but have messages and emails encouraging me to participate in the upcoming special month of activity. Supposedly, I would be so encouraged after getting 30 hours that I would be reassured that its God's organization. Delete, delete, delete...
Sometimes, I feel sad for the lot of them.

This has come up during conversation twice in the past couple of days.
The first was with a good friend who I recently reconnected with. He's my only remaining friend on the inside. His take is that it's ridiculous - people are getting all worked up and excited about a temporary make-believe change to a make-believe position that isn't even biblical.
The second was with my mother. She could hardly be bothered with any news going on in our lives, because it pales in comparison to the excitement over April. She went on about it for a while, getting really excited about the opportunity to be in on the super-top-secret-awesomeness that is the CO's meeting with the pioneers. She also mentioned that last Service Meeting they had read off the list of people who had signed up so far, meaning she would have to sign up ASAP.
My eyes were rolling into the back of my head, but I did manage to say, "I hope it works out well for you". Sigh.

......and the push is really on to pioneer in April. The message around my parts is that the whole congregations should be pioneering.......

He ACTUALLY SAID that "Armageddon is coming and if that's not incentive to do more in the service of Jehovah, I don't know what is."
We have an elder in our cong. who is wont to make statements like that frequently.
He is 60 years old, house foreclosed, forced to live with his adult children, no retirement savings, already looks about 80.
He, and probably the elder who made the above statement, are desperately trying to convince themselves that "armageddon is near" because it's the only thing that might conceivably save them from a life spiraling downward into depression, disease, and premature death.
