Anthony Flew was a good man, an excellent philosopher and thinker and his debates were though provoking and sincere.

His debates with Habermas on the ressurection were great and having read them, really enjoyed them.

The fact that later in life he become a Deist is, like he said, his following where the evidence lead him, as a philosopher.

He was NOT used by anyone, anyone that things that doesn't know that man or read his works.

He never mislead anyone or lead anyone down the apth of atheisim, to think that he shoudl aplogise for his personal views is, well, rather silly.

He always advocated for people to "follow the evidence where it leads".

Designs, this may have nothing to do with the problem but I once had a similar issue because I was typing my messages in another application (Outlook) and then copying and pasting into the post window. If you really want to compose your message outside of the post window, though, Notepad shouldn't create any problems since it's simple ASCII text. I think.

Also if you're trying a new browser, maybe switch to a different one.

Perry: Evidence doesn't work where the true atheist lives.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

That's too rich. Pot, stop throwing names at the kettle.

Perry: Reality is the key here.

LOL. Ha Ha. Man, oh man. I think my coffee came up through my nose from laughing at that. Stop that, Pot. Stop that.

He rose from the dead and we have proof, not hearsay.

See my first comment above about evidence.

I don't think a life devoted to thought and understanding and philsophy is a waste, regardless of how it goes.

Flew followed his heart and his mind and I don't recall him ever being bitter or mean or rude or cruel, he was always a gentleman in his debates, fro what I read anyways.

His life long friendships with people he debated is testiment to that.

I think that it is a bit mean spirited to accuse people of using him, or him allowing himself to be used just as it is mean spirited to accuse him of leading people astray and wasting his life.

Atheism REQUIRES that an adherent view himself as the supreme being. That is a fact by virtue of the definition of atheism.

    Webster Dictionary:

    athe·ist
    Definition of ATHEIST
: one who believes that there is no deity — athe·is·tic\?a-the-'is-tik\ or athe·is·ti·cal\?a-the-'is-ti-k?l\adjective
    — athe·is·ti·cal·ly\-ti-k(?-)le\adverb

The atheist would have to be God himself so as to search everywhere that there is to search in all possible dimensions to make the statement "there is no God". Yet, this is what the atheist believes.

I am sorry, but the above is sheer and utter nonsense - especially the highlighted part.

It is tantamount to saying that I cannot dis-believe in the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairey, or Santa Clause because I have not searched all possible dimensions of the universe.

BD, would you be concerned if, in America, Muslims were the majority? What if they held prominent positions of authority and had numerous lobbies in their corner? Any concern for how that might affect you and your family, just due to the direction of the government? What if your Christian vote was lost in a sea of Muslim votes? What if this became a "Muslim country"?

That could happen and it is the right of every American to choose that. Yes, I would speak about it because I would be concerned with their salvation. Would I respect the votes of Muslims? Of course, just as I respect the decisions made by atheists that hold positions of authority. Until...it violates rights. I think that it is the right of people to teach what they believe. I am not opposed to teaching evolution in school. But why not teach the study of creation in school as well and let the child see both sides of the issue?

However, atheists are not concerned about anyones salvation. Can you prove that religion slows the progress of man?

There is no question but that the Muslim religion has not only slowed, but practically frozen, the progress of women in the middle east in places where they are in total power.
