We're visiting my JW mum today for the first time since the DF'ing. I have put it off for months but we have to bite the bullet at some point and my Dad has phoned to ask us to come today.
It doesn't bode well as she has put her back out and is a little grumpy today but my Dad has asked so I don't want to let him down.

Either way, I wish you luck. JW rellies can be so unpredictable.
I have some idea how you may feel. My MIL is a very strong JW. We just keep well off subject and this seems to have worked for the past two years since we stopped attending meetings. However, for you I am sure it is different since the DF well may be a topic of conversation.
My husband always wanted to say what he felt, why he didn't want to go anymore etc. and be honest but for his Mother this definitely wasn't the way to go. Just keeping quiet or changing the subject is what has worked for us so far.

i feel so bad for you! for the past months you two have been had to be the bigger persons so many times you will end up having to be on a diet!. Whenever i have engaged with my girlfriends family, i have made a clear goal in my head what i wanted to archive and what impression i wanted to leave -- i think it made it slightly easier.
your husband and you have many times been a source of support for us in the past ~year, i really hope something good will come out of today.
