I think I understand where the confused one is coming from....does that mean I'm confused too?

    Yes My dear Watson,

if you see where the shoe fits one and not the other

then yes I would consider you confused also

Gotta say, I kinda agree with Watson and Frigginconfused. I can't see how telling JWs (especially children) that they're agents of Satan is effective. Seems to me it just reinforces their negative beliefs about "apostates". You may have had some good, rational points before that, but the Satan thing just undermined it all, IMHO.

JYD - I think you did well. Hopefuly both will think on what you said.

Frigginconfused, would you interfere if you knew of child that was being molested by her father, or would it be sin to separate them?

JW'dom is abusive, to get the child to think is a GOOD thing.

I lean toward the idea that information like that is the responsibility of the parent.

There is certainly an "empowerment" of sorts when a person breaks free from the cult, but that doesn't mean good judgement is thrown out the window.

    Good Morning Watson!..

What are the Chances an active pro WBT$ JW parent,is going to tell their child..

"Field service is a waste of time and God won`t Kill You if you don`t go"..

    ?

    It`s never going to happen..Ever..

I was threatened through my entire childhood..

It would have been nice if an adult had told me,I nothing to worry about..

I agree with you there Watson,

it was Friggins comment on third parties that got my attention, mainly because I had first hand

experience with JW's tryin' to interfere with personal decisions that were already decided on

within the nucleus of my family

Honesty, could you share the link to that other board?

I would like to read it. PM me if you don't want to make it public.

    Thank You

I agree with you there, Briz. It's one thing to try to get someone to think; it's another thing to insult them. When you confront people with tactless, insulting and inflammatory language, you shut their thinking off (the ol' persecution complex rears its ugly head). That's a fact! When JYD mentioned the Satan thing, everything he did turned into complete fail. There was no win here, IMO.
