I want to repeat I was polite and not rude in any fashion. I spoke in jw lingo they were sure to understand. The dad was not well versed on doctrine or wt history. All i did is bring out facts. It was the dad that brought up "SATAN IS THE FATHER OF LIES" TO which i agreed. I then listed a few false prophicies of the wt in the name of Jehovah . ie. that i was never going to finish grade school. And asked if Jehovah really told them to print those lies? he had no answer. and I told them thats because satan the father of lies is running the wts. because god can't lie. I'm not going to try and type out a 15 minutes transcript of everything that was said. I hope I planted some seeds and I always work the young jw's as they have the best chance to make something of their lives. JYD

Good for you Junk Yard Dog! My vote is for the direct approach .... seasoned with salt.

It is what I personally appreciate when some really wants to tell me something.

JWs use their children to disarm a householder, so they can give them their canned WT indoctrination spiel. I have even seen JWs who didn't have children borrow them from other parents in order to make it easier for them to work a difficult territory. Brothers really love those 3 to 5 year old children- otherwise many doors will never be opened without them using kids as "bait".

Good job JYD, I have a feeling this brother was thinking hard about what you told him.

As long as it was nice, respectful, and matter of fact, I have no problem with what Junk Yard Dog said to either of them.

Actually, to say that god's not going to kill you would have been a relief for me to hear, as a kid.

Unfortunately, I think it had to go down the way it did because of the abusive nature of the cult and the zero chances of dad ever telling her that she's safe from god.

I'm torn because it is really up to the dad to give religion to his kid, but at the same time this is a horrible cult.

    Yeah, I'm torn.

I understand both points of yes say it and no don't say it.

I didn't see anyone mention that this little girl was probably an unbaptized publisher, and is probably only a couple of years away from becoming baptized as an "ordained minister", a decision that has about a 70% chance of seriously coming back to haunt her a few years later.

I really want to quote George Carlin right now about children.

Wish I could tell it like that but I never see any JW's anymore. I wonder if they stopped knocking in my area 12 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, PA? hehe

    "

JWs use their children to disarm a householder,"

Not all householders can be disarmed, we live in a world of uncertainty

they don't know who or what is behind the door they knock on now days

and they don't know how a person in a parkin' lot or on a street corner will react

to their message. So when they bring a child along, they put that child in a position

to hear things they may not want that child to hear, but of course they will tell

the child "we are bein' persecuted because we have the truth"

And I agree Moshe, they do use kids to open doors

Funny as I was asking the girl what grade she was in and how old she was? At first she said 9 years old then a minute later she said she JUST turned 10 yrs old with a smile. I said WOW i THOUGHT YOU WERE 12, I asked when was her birthday> She didn't answer. So I wished her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. and wished her many more. She just smiled big time. It was at that point I went back to the father and got into how the wts takes away simple enjoyable happy family events like , birthdays, school sports activities, college, holidays etc. to get you to peddle mag's. I know he got my point because he's only been a jw for 11 years, and he did say he had birthdays and holidays before. I was sad as I got the feeling he was not from a family of jw's and left his family for the wts.
