It's Tuesday in Chicago and JRK and I made it back. Some cancellations, but those who made it were awesome. LITS did make it and her husband even came out to meet us when he felt better. The Jones are great people. I will leave the rest for Flipper to say, but I will hint that the altitude in Tahoe extremely affected my performance on the tennis court.

Hello everybody. To all who came to the Tahoefest - thanks so much for making it a fun, great event ! Went off without a hitch ! ( no bear attacks ) as GETTING mentioned happened last week. There was lots of fun swimming at the lake and beach lounging, good food, great conversations around the campfire at night where we all shared many stories of HOW we exited the JW cult and more precisely HOW we are currently dealing with any JW relatives still on the inside. Also included was what made each of us come to our senses as well.
We had a MODERATE amount of alcohol at night , some nice varied wines , Moosehead, Heineken, and Corona , Sierra Nevada beer.
Friday night was Flipper's only night he had hard liquor. One night was enough of that after drinking close to over a third of a bottle of Yukon Jack- I figured the next 2 nights wine and beer would suffice. Needless to say after going to the rest rooms at 1:00 A.M. I nearly stumbled my way back to camp looking for Mrs. Flipper and my tent. When I walked too far and saw that I was at Mrs. Jones and her hubby's tent I went " woops ". . Then using the smoldering campfire as a guide - I literally " crashed " into my wife as I fell into our sleeping bag inside our tent !
As regards the Tennis event . We had a nice 2 matches . JRK & GETTINGAFIRMHOLDONTHEREALLIFE played doubles against ON THE WAY OUT and myself. We prevailed 6-1. I'm not sure who won the singles match between JRK & GETTINGAFIRMHOLDONTHEREALLIFE , however ON THe WAY OUT and myself had a good match where I prevailed 6-2. The only reason I think I won is because I'm used to living at higher mountain altitudes. Our midwest friends are used to living at sea level and the thin mountain air can play havoc on lungs and breath control. When the time comes and I go back midwest- the humidity back there will probably cause me to lose 20 lbs. and melt into a puddle ! Had fun playing with you guys though. It was a blast !
LIFE IS TOO SHORT and her husband are dropping by this afternoon so I'll try to get SOME pictures downloaded on this thread here. I'm in the process of downloading the CD right now. Anyone who has pictures they want to share feel free to do so, although I caution you to ask permission of the people to make sure it's all right. Don't want anyone to be outed, so some of you will be getting a call from me to see if you do or don't want your pictures posted before I do so. The regulars who attended from years past I'll go ahead and post- but if I have doubts, I promise you'll get a phone call first.
Anybody else feel free to share your stories of the trip !
I'll be coming back a bit later, take care

Sounds like a competitive spirit entered the occasion - disappointing, the elders are concerned!

Sounds like it was a good time. Despite living up in Canada I entertained making the trip to Lake Tahoe to join in. Just too busy this summer.
Moosehead, Heineken, and Corona , Sierra Nevada beer.
Interesting Flipper...Moosehead is one of my favs and I believe the last independent brewery in Canada. So (perhaps obviously) you can buy it down there in Utah?
