yes , i talk quite openly about my time involved with jws and my daughters abuser (who we met at the kingdom hall ) i dont do this to gossip but as a warning not to even give jws the time of day as my girl could have been a different person today if i had not been so polite to them ! i was also once told i would have been stoned to death had i lived 2000 years ago ! people have found that hard to believe that in our society (uk ) that someone would actually say that !

Talking about it is liberating - and therapeutic however I 'talk' mostly via my anonymous blog since I've faded and don't want to relive the trauma of being hunted down by over zealous elders.

It's not just you. I am much more open about being an ex-JW than I ever was about being a JW.

I do talk to other ex-JW's on a regular basis, on JWN, on the phone, in person. I talk to family and coworkers that are trusted and want to know.
I discuss JW's in the most bizarre and basic terms when talking to family and coworkers. Many do not understand as well as ex-JW's, but they get that I am past the deception.
The liberating part is being able to answer differently than a JW would on questions like "Why don't they celebrate...?" "Why do they refuse blood?" "Why do they spend so much time knocking on doors?" I am able to give the believing-member answers and the true mind-control answers.

When you tell people the unadulterated truth about the JWs it can be interesting.
I was asked, "Why don't Witnesses celebrate birthdays?". My response was " In the Bible, 2 people died on a birthday so Witnesses wouldn't want any association with that".
