life is to short
I can so totally feel you pain. We used our car to death in field service, I was working so hard sometimes two jobs to keep it up with all the repairs and for what.
I am still so bitter over it but I allowed it when I look back. Does it change me from being bitter no. I have got to let go of the anger somehow and I am working on that.

Well, on my way home, my car made an unfamiliar noise, and I'm under the impression my transmission is getting ready to croak.
MLE, I know you're frustrated about more than your car troubles, but let's just deal with the car first. Have you checked your transmission fluid? If not, that should be your first step. Do you know how to? Second, do you drive a minivan? If so, Chryslers and Dodges are notorious for the torque converters going bad. That's serious, but it's not as bad as needing a new transmission.
I'm PMing you my phone number. If you need or want to ask questions about your car troubles, my husband is on sick leave for one more week. He's been working on cars for probably longer than you've been alive, and he's successfully advised people over the phone many times.
Just take a deep breath. Deal with the car first, and then give serious thought to starting your fade. Dislocating the co's jaw is not a good first step. In the meantime, calm yourself by listening to this song. It makes me think of faders and their challenges and newfound freedoms.

Misery, I'm sorry about your misery.
I think its time for you to leave. Whats your family situation? Are you married with children, just married, or single? If your single, your fade will be easier, but depending on your family situation, its gonna be harder for you to leave.
I know your parents and relatives are JW's, but if you leave, their just gonna have to get over it. Your health, sanity, and emotional well being depends on it.

MLE, absolutly feel for you, in many aspects same her. if it was not for family, I would be out a while ago.
hanging in there becomes more and more tiresome, and even quite depressiv at times.
sitting at the meetings, listening (soemtimes producing) to nonsense or boring topics. Worst of it, to nod to stupid cultish comments from others, how wonderful everything in JW world is, how thankful we have to be to faithful and discreet slave, etc....
only comfort rigtht now, there are others going through the same, this forum here is really a therapy....

you need to take a break from the madness. Stop going and recharge, if after a period away it is no big deal and no one seems overly concerned stay away. If the meetings are stressing you out this much you need some space.

To physically stay somewhere that you have already emotionally, mentally, and spiritually left is going to spin you for a huge loop unless you can develop a strong barrier around your inner self to shield you from the onslaught. Some people call this "Going to Your Happy Place". If you cannot maintain the shield, you are going to suffer. I hope you survive it but damage is being done to yourself each and every day you stay. You need to develop a coping strategy.
Nelson Mandela comes to mind. This poem helped him during some of his darkest hours in his life.
Invictus
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul. -

Nicely done, heaven :-) perhaps i can add another poem, a personal favorite:
If you think you're beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.If you think you'll lose, you've lost.
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will,
It's all a state of mind.If you think you're out-classed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself,
If you ever want to obtain a prize.Life's battles does not always go,
To the stronger or faster man.
But, sooner or later, the man who wins,
Is the man who thinks he can
