The organization does a lot of reframing.

JWs are like car salesmen- they advertise what they do better than the competition, but never mention what they are doing worse than the competition- like charity- JWs and local KH's stink when it comes to charitable work for the poor, so the solution is to never, never mention or compare their puny acts of charity with all that the Churches do and hope that nobody notices the omission.

    1. False doctrines, all taught to keep people in darkness, all done by those claiming to speak for God! (Yep, that's the GB alright!!)

    2. Misconduct by the leaders and by the followers with impunity (ie. child abuse, adultery, etc., etc.). (Yep, that's happening in the congregations. BTW. Mrs Punk has no idea who the GB are other than 'they're just imperfect men doing their best! BARF)

    3. Bloodguilt via involvement in war and politics. (Don't get me started!! UN, Randcam...oooooh. My blood is boiling...)

My wife asked me on Saturday if I had a better way of being Christian than what the JWs are doing.

Metatron got a good start on answering this one with this comment on another thread:

"... put forth some effort to help people in some organized way - whether soup kitchens, public charities, hospitals or the like."

    To that I would add:

"The GB should stop trying to run JWs' lives as if they themselves were God."

Excellent summation for reasons WTS does not qualify as God's Sole Channel or even His Channel period - I myself determined if I were to worship with Spirit and Truth I would have to leave the organization - and you can share with your wife it has indeed worked out to be a better way of being a Christian for me - the fruits of joy, peace and love that seemed so lacking before in my associations at the Kingdom Hall I now find abundant in what the WTS calls Babylon the Great. One doesn't have to dump the good because they leave the bad - I have kept the teachings and there were many - that I came to love as part of the WTS - and so far those in my delightful interdenominational Bible Study group have not passed judgment on me for differences of opinion with them - they embrace me and welcome my participation. So different from the days I had to watch every word I said for fear of causing dissension in the WTS - in my new association outside the WTS it seems nearly impossible to cause dissension because others are trying to understand and learn right along with myself from God's Word and God's Word alone. It is truly a delightful refreshment after nearly 40 years in the "dark."

Witnesses and the Governing Body are amateurs in the screwing over Department, go to an Evangelical or Funamentalist church and watch the real Pros at work. Fleece City.

I will give them that. Instead they wait eagerly for armageddon, when their god will execute judgment upon all non-jws. They're more partial to mass genocide.

In my experience, authoritarian personality types most loudly condemn the failings in others that they secretly despise the most about themselves.

If you are in a burning building, do you stay until you know where to run to...or do you get out of the burning building and then, once safe...decide where to run to?

That's a brilliant illustration. Are you more than just the avatar of Ray Franz? Maybe his spirit works through you?
