    DUNCAN,
Great post. It really got me thinking.. I really enjoy your posts.

    William,
    You got it!
That was me.... I stupidly fell out of the 'routine' catch-phrase when we were out in service. This is how it went...

SISTER #1: *sigh* Things are so hard nowadays, I cant wait for Jehovah to destroy this system!!

SISTER #2: *sigh* Girl, I know it! These truly are the last days... its so hard...

ME: (in disbelief) What? I think things are pretty good! There are cures for diseases that used to kill or cripple, we are getting more and more technology that eases life and encourages communication with loved ones..even what is considered 'middle class' in America is pretty lavish considering what other countries have! I'm pretty lucky..

SISTER #1: (Staring at me in absolute horror) WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???? YOU ARE SO SPIRITUALLY IMMATURE!!! HOW CAN YOU....

SISTER #2 interrupts: Sister #1, Terafera is not baptized. I"m sure she will rectify her thinking after she dedicates her life to Jehovah.

SISTER #1: *flustered* Oh... um.... okay... well.... I guess I can understand that.... *fixing hair*... well I just mean.. you know.. this IS the last days and all...

    This is a true story.

It happened a few months before I walked away for good.

Talking with a JW is like banging your head on the wall. Except you have a greater chance at getting through the wall.

I can relate to that I still get it from my mother and sister. I like the statement "I'm sure she will rectify her thinking after she dedicates her life to Jehovah". Are you sure they she didn't say to you that you needed an "attitude adjustment"? Another favorite catch phrase of the dubs.

    Will

"I am quite sure now that often, very often, in matters concerning religion and politics a man's reasoning powers are not above the monkey's."
