    Amazing

I wasn't necessarily thinking of large scale operations such as with terrorist organisations.
Maybe people who are already witnesses and turned week in the truth are asked information.
Anyway like I first mentioned a government report, quoted in the newspaper last week said over 1000 organisations had permission to gather secret information by use of surveillance.
Even such organisations as the even post office have the power to do so if necessary.

There's always going to be somebody nosey looking over your shoulder but don't let that paralyse you. Simply take it into account and take action! In fact you can even make use of it.

I'll give you an example. William Schnell, Zone Servant, wrote Thirty Years As A Watchtower Slave. He knew Rutherford's agents were spying and ratting on him. So he used that.

Schnell made a few border-line slightly critical remarks around a person to see if he was snitching. Sure enough it came back on him and then he knew that person was a snitch while others weren't.

A Bethelite or two were following him around. He wrote that he "led them on a merry chase." In other words he wore them out and had more fun doing so than they had in trailing him.

See what I mean? Now if you mean government agents, it threads a fine line between freedom of religion in the U.S. and protecting society which is also required.

I believe that Amazing is essentially correct. Of course things can change as seen with the 9-11 thing. It's been in the news that the CIA and FBI now have enhanced authority and increased ability for surveillance, which is good. (Ro 13:1)

    You Know:

The Queen Mother informs me that Milton Henschell is a total wildman between the sheets. Much better than that flaccid character Lyndon LaRouche.

    You Know said:

: Their subtle influence could explain how the Wt ended up as an NGO.

That's pretty funny, given that the main man behind the initial application for association was Harry Peloyan. Peloyan has been editor-in-chief of Awake! for a long time, was the main author of the 1985 Creation book and the 1967 Evolution book, had a large hand in the 1968 Truth book, and has had his fingers in many Watchtower projects. Of course, we also had at least two Governing Body members sign the initial application or the yearly renewals, and there are a number of upper-echelon Bethelites who subsequently used the associated NGO status to get access to the political process in various countries and political organizations such as the European Commission on Human Rights. Naturally, the Legal Department as well as the GB had to approve sending representatives to participate in these political processes. So what you're really saying, Bobby, is that the Society is run by agents of Satan. If I were a believing man I could not disagree.

    Fellow Apostates,
For a long time we have suspected that their were WTS informants patroling apostate boards and reporting back to their masters.

Are there any present on this board? Could [You Know] be one of these mysterious INFORMANTs to the WTS?

If so YK/[other]I have a message:Tell your masters to move more quickly to clamp down and remove inactive ones from their midst before their evil empire crumbles.ONLY, tell them to be sure to sketch out a master WAR plan.

    Yours Truely,
    Martini, [Shaken not Stirred]

Interesting topic. Growing up I heard rumors that there were gov agents who progressed to upper levels of the borg - perhaps its true, or more urban legend?

AlanF brings up some interesting thoughts as usual - however, what is really intriguing is why am I seeing Xena's picture with your post Alan???? Strange.....

This raises another question, If the society is "spirit directed" How could Jehovah allow it to be infiltrated in the first place?

Martini, the Society has for years had observers from time to time on JW-critical forums.

Makena1, here are some real wheels within wheels. Now I'm you.

    you know:

Oh,really? Please enlighten me. Do you mean to tell me that you know for a fact that Jehovah is not God and that Christ is not King of God's kingdom and that God's word is not true? / You Know

challenging people to 'prove a negative' is an old religionist / creationist trick.

To show how bogus it is, please prove that I am not the almighty lord of the universe ... do you know for a fact that I am not?

In fact, the only way to know there is no god for sure would be to check every part of the universe at the same time which would probably mean that you were god.

    Alan,

What's with the photo identity crises?

I love it when you shoot Robert out of the water, it's kinda like the fish in the barrel scenario.

    Martini,

I really don't think Robert is reporting back to the WT society, they don't like him anymore than we do. Robert is definitely in his own little world and only reports back to his collection of Beanie Baby admirers and his superiors on the mother ship.
