Jesus' Message - by sabastious

Love could be considered the most powerful force on the planet. The Jesus character within the Bible seemed to know this truth intimately. He was born into one of the worst cases of government and religious oppression in human history. The Hebrews were once again enslaved, not by the Egyptians, but by the Romans this time.

Jesus must have felt compassion for his people that fought so hard for their freedom and were swooped up by, yet again, another world power. He knew that what got them to the “promise land” the first time was violence and conquering. He was living in a time where he was able to view, first hand, how violence doesn’t work. He knew his heritage included the Israelites slaughtering nation after nation to accomplish their “purpose”. Yet even after conquering their neighboring territories and setting up a place of “Holy Worship” to the “one true God” they still easily fell into the hands of the much more technologically and socially advanced Romans.

The Hebrews were monetarily raped of the proceeds of their hard work and there was no end to this injustice in sight. So Jesus, just a human man, took action. He realized that the “chosen people” framework doesn’t work because there will always be stronger enemies to come and enslave you. Jesus was smart to know that violence will only bring you as far as your physical strength can take you. He knew that it would take completely new thinking to not only free his people from the Roman's tyranny, but also to attempt to keep his people from falling into corruption again. He took on a a serious feat.

He chose, rather ingeniously, love as his weapon. Love gave him the courage to stand in opposition to the religious and governmental leaders of his time. Jesus was a hippy activist, through and through, and quite possibly the first one in human history.

His actions must have been completely new to his people. If you get a chance to read Leviticus in the Bible you’ll understand what kind of religious abuse was going on all those years ago. Jesus recognized the worthlessness of mass organized religion. It was a corrupt and unworkable mess, so Jesus threw it out and replaced it with two commands:

    Love God
    Love your neighbors

Jesus states that God is love so the first command could better be described as “abide in love” because if you do that you are loving your God, whether you believe in him or not.

The second command is the one that is going to take humanity a bit longer to accomplish. Luckily when he started this hippy movement it lasted even until our day, even though his message is buried within all the “Christian” denominations. There were less “lovers” and a whole lot more “haters” back in Jesus time, and there are a lot less “haters” today. Whatever he did, it worked, because the world changed after him. Hell, we changed our calendar to coincide with this alleged birth. It is truly unfortunate that we, as a people, have chosen to distort his message to suit our own needs. It started with the books in the Bible that come right after the gospels. Paul had a “revelation” and started a church and this was the start of the distortion of Jesus' message. Fortunately, his message is still in there you just have to scrub off all the gunk.

Our world today is proof that his framework for humanity works. When love drives whatever system we have in place that doesn’t work it glows like Edison’s first working bulb.

I kind of see it like we cannot understand love or have the necessary love that God requires by ourselves as we are imperfect. God is love and so as Christians we have love in our hearts by having Christ. Something that Paul was explaining.

Paul did elaborate on love, rather beautifully at times, but he missed what I believe was Jesus' ultimate point: that every human on this planet is part of one big Church and the only way to unify us in eternal prosperity is when we figure out love by ourselves. We have to save ourselves it's the only way.

Only way to save ourselves is by Christ. When God sees you unless you are hidden in Christ he will see your sin.

Christ can save us after we die... but before that it's us that has the reins in our hands. We are very lucky to live in a time where technology gives us hope for the future. A lot of lives were saved by Japan's sophisticated tsunami warning systems. They only had 5-10 minutes to react and, still, many were able to escape.

Our ancestors, the ones that created religion, were not so lucky. They would have been deleted from this planet and all surviors would have to explain to themselves why it happened.

Hey Sab, love vibrates higher... and activates DNA!

    "Higher Vibration"

    by Ziggy Marley

    These city walls
    Are like a prison
Why we gotta keep on living
With our backs against the wall

    We are creatures of love
    Victims of hate
    We gotta keep on living
With our backs against the wall

    No No No
Start living on a higher vibration
Now we take it to the heights of creation

    Perfection of divinity
    Is everyone's duty
    Don't waste your time
    Living for the vanities
    We are creatures of faith
    Victims of destiny
    Which we create

Now we living on a higher vibration
'Cause we take it to the heights of creation

You know what I'm talking 'bout
    don't tell me no
Baby I could scream and shout
    But I won't
    It's a human experience
    On another sphere
    Well, it's a human existence
    On another wavelength

    Listen to me now
Now We living on a higher vibration
Then we take it to the heights of creation

Let me take you little higher
And then you take me little higher
