Is Satan actually a liar?

Sinis, Christ was quoting Hosea 6:6 when he said that His Father desires mercy, not sacrifice. That passage and chapter and book is talking about the LORD, or YHWH.

So I think he does quote YHWH as his father. But too many attributed acts to that same God, which were not required of them, from Him. If we look through Christ, then we can more easily see the difference between what God wanted or did, and what the people thought He wanted or did.

I was just thinking about starting a thread examining what we can learn from a close study of Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner. Since we are already discussing talking animals maybe it would be apropos.

A lot of IFs can be assumed but from just reading what is written, Satan didn't lie to Eve. Deception may be on Satan's part but what he told her was true. She ate, and didn't die. She also came to know what was good and bad as it appears she nor Adam knew what was bad before they ate of the fruit.

If it was bad to be naked thus they seeked clothing after eating of the fruit why did God allow them to do bad?

But then again we are talking about a fable.

startingover, neither one of them talked! Is that what you had in mind?

Tec, you have to go further back. The Bible has been corrupted by the YHWH cult. The Gnostics were very much aware of who "YHWH" was.

Yes, Sinis, but you used a quote from YHWH, later used by Christ to show a truth, to explain how He wasn't Christ's Father. That same YHWH is portrayed as wanting sacrifice in the OT, and then stating that He did not wants mercy, not sacrifice... and then Christ comes along to show us the truth of the matter by quoting from Hosea, that God wants mercy, not sacrifice.

Therefore, THAT is what we should recognize as truth.

I read a bit of what you linked to, then got interrupted, but Christ never said that all snakes or serpents were evil, and neither does the bible. (Why else would people have to look toward the copper snake of Moses to be freed from poison?) Only Satan, as the father of lies and a murderer, or as the adversary, or whatever. So I suppose I would argue with even the first paragraph of what you linked to, lol.

The bigger question is why did YHWH require the use of a copper serpent? It is also interesting that YHWH killed tons of people but resurrected NONE. Why?

Don't want to hijack a thread, my other post was more along the line of having a discussion about beings that aren't real.
