I spoke to someone who was previously disfellowshipped and then reinstated for audultry with another member of the congregation. He told me he was not required to write a letter to his ex-spouse.

He is now a Ministerial Servant (after approximately 2 years of being reinstated). The offenders and the offended both moved to different congregations immediately following the offense.

What I meant in my reply was simply to tell how those cases are usually handled in the org. However, i fully agree with you, that such a serious thing as adultery is most certainly a matter between the married couple. I know cases, were the meddling of the elders made situations even worse for the innocent part. Generally I would understand a kind of discipline in the spirit of 1 Corinthians, but the whole disfellowshipping arrangement of the WTS is just pathetic.

yes Inbetween, I agree. Sorry to go off on a rant (warning or not) but I have seen so many folks lives just destroyed by the meddling of elders. It is a very private matter and couples should not be forced to make quick decisions. ( often they are as the elders need to know the state of the marriage- the congo has to know they are handling this and other BS statements).
