  I feel quite sure that the harangued and harassed souls on this Board who this week were being mercilessly hounded by the GB in their cowardly guise as appointed elders looking for DA signatures on pieces of paper, take great comfort in the following statements in the December 15th 2001 WT. These DA, letters of course are a requirement from God and have nothing to do with the solidification of any Pharisaical legal position.

  11. From a study of Biblical and secular evidence, we can conclude that the Pharisees thought highly of themselves as guardians of the public good and the national welfare. They were not satisfied that God’s Law was fundamentally clear and easily understood. Wherever the Law seemed to them to be unspecific, they sought to plug apparent gaps with defined applications to eliminate any need for conscience. These religious leaders attempted to devise a precept to govern conduct in all issues, even trivialities.

  16. Pick, pick, pick. That was the Pharisaic way. The Pharisees looked for every flaw - real or imagined. They kept people on the defensive and reminded them of their failures.

  22. Those who listened to Jesus and became disciples appreciated the truth of his declaration: "My load is kindly and my load is light. They never felt burdened harassed, or harangued by him, They were freer, happier, and more confident about their relationship with God and with one another. From him they learned that being a spiritual leader calls for being refreshing to others, manifesting lowliness of mind and heart.

  It's so frustrating that they are so bold as to draw those comparisons. Maybe it's the effrontery they use that makes most dubs think it can't possibly apply to their own people.

  But how quickly i forget that i would have swallowed that baloney down just a year or two ago.

  Thanks for sharing those paragraphs to point out the similarities. Take that rafter out of your eye WTBS before you condemn others.

  The narrow mindedness that labels and paints with the same brush any who question the twisted thinking of a man made organization who claims to speak for God sickens me. Certainly there are a large percentage who were forced to leave for doing "vile" things (again interpretational), there are an equal number who left because of doctrinal flaws, hypocrisy, and basic preservation of mental health.

  In my case, it took the suicide of my only daughter to get me to wake up.

  For those that want to go back - I say, if it works for you fine and good. I choose to never give up my freedom of thought or turn over my conscience to a group of judgmental, cultish etc. men. God is the only one I trust to read my heart.

  I do not post very often - but today I felt a need to. Simon, thanks for this forum to vent, learn, listen and share.

  I had no idea. I am truly sorry, what a painful way to receive an awakening.

  Hello hillary, i must say when reading watctower 15 dec as we shall study tommorw, i feel that the governig body is reading
  this sites, the messegs in it are just things some have complining on on this sites.
  P 15 say when red 3 Mos 15.25-28 what can we learn, if you are an elder and someone coming upp to you for help how will you akt,
  will you follow jesus exampel, perhaps you say ofcourse, BUT THE Chalenge is to DO IT.
  This is a remarkabel hint to the eldre that things must be better, and I agree.

  Hello Again Happy Man,

  I agree with you, changes are underway.

  My feeling though is that the GB are gradually changing because they have too, not because they want to.

  Many of the statements in recent months that have issued from WTS Public Relations seem to be blaming the 'elders' more and more for the failures of the systems that they imposed.I think that many changes will come, but without apology for the hurt caused in the past. The elders, always the soft-target, will be cited for any past failures in the system.

  This is rather like the foolish British Generals in WWI, who blamed the 250,000 British and French casualties suffered in one day at Passiondale on the cowardice of the soldiers, rather than admit their own anachronistic and flawed battle plans.

  As to the WTS reading this Board, I can tell you that I know that 'Legal' have the authority to read the Board, though I cannot speak for other departments.

  Makena, I'm terriby sorry to hear about the death of your daughter. Having just one child myself, a daughter I dearly love, I can only imagine your pain.

  I think that many changes will come, but without apology for the hurt caused in the past.

  One of the things that proved to me that this wasn't God's Organisation was the fact that when changes were made, no apology was presented to those that were affected by the previous policies.

  Can anyone show me where they apologised for the lives lost due to not receiving organs, when they changed the organ transplant policy to that of being a conscience matter?

  Can someone show me where they apologised for misleading us with the "generation" doctrine, making us believe that Armageddon was going to come within 70-80 years of 1914?

  Anyone?

  Ironically, it was the studying of the Greatest Man book for the thrid time that opened my eyes to the Pharisaic policies and actions of the WTS. How different they were to the loving encouragement Jesus gave to his followers. How they replaced one's personal relationship with God, to giving one's obedience to a man-made religion.

  Shame on you, WTS, shame on you.
