Wouldn't it be refreshing if the Watchtower printed a special issue devoted to all the mistakes they have made?
Think about it. They could apologize and explain where they went wrong. Then, they could publicly own up to
the fact they misled themselves first. Personal stories of self-delusion could be inspiring and serve as an example
to how easy it is to go wrong.
That won't happen.
Why?
It takes humility to admit error and ask for forgiveness.
The most laughable irony is the application of the adjective "discreet" to these people. From Miram Webster's; " Definition of DISCREET
1 : having or showing discernment or good judgment in conduct and especially in speech :prudent; especially: capable of preserving prudent silence"
The very first order of business for this religion was setting up a chronology that could be publicly PROVED or DISPROVED.
1874 was identified as the Return of Jesus.
1914 was the date for the destruction of governments and false religion.
What happened?
The religion was publicly disproved. THEY IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES as FALSE prophets.
The intellectual dishonesty of C.T.Russell became immediately evident. For the next 2 years he fudged his words and dates and changed his charts.
All the false statements were based on what?
If the Watchtower was the mouthpiece of Jehovah then the FALSE prediction was from Jehovah.
That means Russell was a dupe of a liar God.
Or......
It was a false religion.
Take your pick.
