    Here you go cupcake.

Watch the grammar when you read WT articles. Make sure you are not reading into it something that it doesn't really say. In this case, their 'No' doesn't mean 'no' at all. It comes with a qualifying statement that excludes people who do not 'take a stand' = join their cult.

Do you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?

No. Many millions who have lived in centuries past and who were not Jehovah’s Witnesses will come back in a resurrection and have an opportunity for life. Many now living may yet take a stand for truth and righteousness before God’s time of judgment, and they will gain salvation. Moreover, Jesus said that we should not be judging one another. Humans look at the outward appearance; God looks at the heart. He sees accurately and judges mercifully. God has committed judgment into Jesus’ hands, not ours.— Matthew 7:1-5 ; John 5:22 , 27 .

That is some powerful evidence of why the GB does not want the R&f to be on these forums, I mean what in the world are these guys thinking, don't they read their own press! More importantly what are they going to say if the Creator ever decides to come back from wherever he is presently focused because it sure isn't here - I mean since the NT was "written" for the annointed don't they think Rom. 14:10 would especially apply to them?

It's hard to beleive that less than a year ago I was giving public talks and I always included the statement "If this is not God's organization...then he doesn't have one" man what a paradigm shift I'm having.

You can't help to feel like a fool when the blinders come off and to think I read C of C by Ray Franz twice in 1988 and came back from exile anyway.

    what a chucklehead!

    Do yourself a favour.

Before you decide to join a religion, or any other group for that matter, pop down to the library and get a good book that teaches Critical Thinking.

Here is one of my favourites http://www.amazon.com/Teach-Your-Child-How-Think/dp/0140238301 Don't let the title put you off, it is great for adults too.

Click on the book cover and read the introduction.

    Cheers

Jesus was the Truth. Anything short of that is just another untruth, to varying degrees. According to Scripture, the JWs are the closest I've found so far.

99% of churches can be written off for the Trinity doctrine. Most have some fundamental flaw. Unitarian Universalism loses me with the Universalism part. The few who didn't merge in 1961 seem to have disbanded. Really, the main problem I have with JWs is the human leadership. This was exactly the problem with 1 st -century (and leading up to then) Judaism. Jesus pointed this out, but didn't encourage his followers to leave.

Instead, he led by example that man-made rules are not mandatory and flawed human interpretation of Scripture is not binding. He warned that we'd have problems inside "the synagogues" being his follower and that our enemies would be in our own houses. If we go with the flow and follow the congregation into blasphemy and idolatry for the Governing Body and the Organization, then things will be easier, but living for glory before men is its own reward. Jehovah will reward us for following him and his son, not for following men.

You'll have to read your Bible and learn about God's commands. If you follow Jesus' example and lead a Christian life, but other Witnesses and elders find fault with you, remember the same thing happened to Jesus and the apostles. They were persecuted and killed at the hand of their "brothers". For over 1000 years, the closest thing to true Christianity was the Catholic Church, so in comparison, JWs aren't so bad. If you find something that fits the Bible better, please let me know.

    Thanks,

I am thinking of just studying and following on my own.

but if i do something better I will let you know. But everything I do find there is always something false about them...

Kourtney, great quote, 2Peter 2:1 says it all. To me what Jesus teaches in the NT completely replaces the harsh genocidal God of the OT (I do sorta believe in God, but ordinary men wrote the Bible, and their understanding was shaped by their capacity and the time they lived in).

If we follow the golden rule before any additional man-made rules we can't go far wrong. And if the jws did that, they couldn't shun their family and friends.

I also have a question regaurding religion but seem to have posted it in the wrong place.....

    Mine is this:

So I have been talking with a Jehovah's Witness for a bit now, and I find myself asking him the same question and thought I would put it out there for all other JW's to try and answer me.
NO SCRIPTURES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! I want human answers from human beings.
I dont want to go to the Kingdom Hall, I dont want pamphlets etc, I just want a simple yes or no answer to my questions...
    Firstly:
Does god know all? Did he create all?
If the answer is yes, then my question is:
    Why did he create evil?
Yes I know Satan was the bearer of evil, but god created him. Can god not take responsibilty for giving Satan life and free will, therefore giving him the option of sin and evil.
AND if god created all, then he MUST have known evil. Otherwise the meaning would not exist.
If god did NOT know all- then that must mean we are an experiment.
    We are his playthings.
Evil may have come thru satan, bu god created satan. All the scriptures explaining evil seem to me like excuses, god saying "Dont blame me! Its all satan's fault! Even though I made him, it was he who wrecked havoc in the garden of Eden!".
Firstly, God allowed him to wreck this havoc, and secondly he gave satan life.
Did god know that this world would turn out the way it did? And satan would turn out the way he would?
Just a yes or no, again, PLEASE no bible readings. Ok He created us, yet feels the need to test our beliefs? When he already knew exactly what would happen?
I cant just put all my faith into a god who has that kind of vanity. He needs constant praise and worship, where the truly great people I know are happy within themselves that they dont need to be told how great they are.

Scriptures are like armour. This is my question stripped bare and I also want the answer stripped bare, without scriptures or excuses.

For evil to come into this world, our creator MUST have known evil, or how else would it even exist? I understand the 'robot' comment, however Jesus was born human, he was NOT a robot, yet he did not sin. God gave him that gift Thats like having a favorite child (to me- no offence).
God gave us that intelligence and free will KNOWING that evil could come out of it.
If he created all, then he MUST have known that evil could possibly exist, yet let it, and then continued to test us like it was a game to him. The same answer I always get is pretty much:
    "ITS NOT GOD'S FAULT!"
Ok, god made and created all.
Therefore he has to take responsibilty for evil. If he is accountable for love, good etc, he cant deny that THROUGH him, evil came to this world.
Yes, yes, I know Satan was the one who caused it, but god caused Satan. God was the creator of emotions.
When it comes down to it, the very very end, God was the one who allowed satan, and allowed evil, and allowed humanity.
Then he seems to point the finger at everyone else like Adam and Eve, who were mere mortals with curiousity and they didnt know.
Its like putting a cake on the table and saying to your kids "DO NOT EAT THIS or you will become evil". Adam and Eve were innocent like children and because of God's 'test', they allowed evil into this world.
You can blame the snake, satan, Adam or Eve, but nobody is pointing the finger at the person who CREATED all of this.

    QUOTE:

'Free Will' means that no god(s) know what someone will do in advance because the god(s) gave both divine beings and human beings the power to make their own choices, for themselves, independent of the god(s).

BUT god(s) DO have an INFINITELY good 'Divine HUNCH' as to what these 'beings' will end up 'choosing'.

So, even though 'Free Will' relieves god(s) of DIRECT responsibility, god(s) can NEVER escape the charge of IRRESPONSIBILITY!

AGAIN- Everything was created by god.
    That means free will.
    Which means potential of evil.
How did evil come about if the creator of all did not know evil to begin with.
IT ALL COMES BACK TO GOD.
No matter how many scriptures, bible readings, excuses there are out there, EVERYTHING comes back to the creator. God.
Who must have had evil in him to evil for it to exist.
The only way I see that organised religion is on to something is if god and satan were created at the same time. There is an opposite to everything. Even matter and anti matter. Thats the only way it could make sense to me.
And wasnt satan supposed to be an angel at first? What intelligent being who could know love and good suddenly decide 'ah screw it, Ima be evil now!". And yes Ive heard he was jealous of god and wanted power etc but GOD was the one who allowed these emotions. He allows love and happiness, and the opposite of that is hate and misery. But god will only take responsibilty for the good things??
