I think it's because of the appearance of innocence or possibly the naivete of jw girls. For some guys I guess it's very appealing.

The problem is with her at sixteen with lots of years to grow up and develop her hopes and ambitions. Which may or may not include you. If she goes exclusive with you at this age, how is she to know?

The kindest thing you can do for her is to back off to non-exclusivity for the next couple years and see other people. Then you can have a talk. If she grows up die-hard Witness, you will have some thinking to do. If she loosens up and is able to see other perspectives, you have a chance.

She's almost 16. I don't care what the norm is in Portugal or how much her mother likes older guys. Her mother is an adult. Call her when she's 18, or even better-20, if you are still looking to date someone then.

Regardless of how much you want to help her, here's how it will go- You will have sex with the young girl at some point. It doesn't matter how much you say you will "wait." It ain't normal to wait. It's part of the reason young adult males like these girls too young for them. All the JW's will assume that you will or you did or you want to have sex with her, so she will get into all kinds of trouble because of you.

Anything you try to help her learn will be lost in emotions and accusations and sex. She will either break up with you and go back to her cult or she will lose friends and family over a relationship with you. Tell her she is too young to stay in that cult and tell her to look up jwfacts.com, freeminds.org, and any books by Raymond Franz. Then stay out of her life until she grows up.
