blackwhite includes not only a loyal willingness to say that black is white when the Organization so demands, but also the ability to believe that black is white, and more, to know that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary. doublethink requires the simultaneous holding of two contradictory opinions, even while knowing them to be contradictory and while believing in both of them.
Together, these compel the jW to switch aside his knowledge of what the intervening verses say, and while still knowing them, also unknow them here unless specifically pointed to them by "Mother" for the purpose of the Composite Sign discussion. Of course, if they became useful again (say to paint some other faith or cult as a False Prophet) these same verses would assume enormous strength, relevance and prominence!
The Watchtower knows it can rely on the brainwashing for the dubs. To them, the intervening verses are i n v i s i b l e unless the Watchtower picks them out in its searchlight!
As to Yadirf's implication that the vast majority of casual readers of Awake! check out Biblical citings, it is so absurd as to need no refutation!

You CAN take it with you.. Why, though, does the Society construct new buildings when the world is in such an uncertain state? Brother Barry explained that Jehovah's organization expects to survive these troubled times. God's people are getting equipped and organized to give the greatest witness possible in these final years before Armageddon brings an end to this system of things. And they hope that many of their new facilities will be used in the great post-Armageddon reorganization work.
And when in ***w84 12/1 24 the Watchtower described at length how best jWs could efficiently give special gifts (donations, stocks, bonds, land and property) to the WTBTS, and make it the beneficiary in insurance policies and wills, the Watchtower was sufficiently contemptuous of the thinking powers of its followers to have the temerity to present on the very next page a diagram and details of a Medical Alert Card, forbidding anyone from giving blood to its carrier... what contempt!
Try harder, Yadirf, and heed my shepherding call. Even Stafford and Friend were able to come up with better material than this, though they too responded to my loving correction of their errors grammatical in a way that displayed little by way of grace or gratefulness.
Oh, sorry - almost forgot. WHACK and WHACK! And in fine old Watchtower style, the first deep impact was a symbolic one having a literal fulfillment in modern times and the second was a literal one having but a symbolic fulfillment and in future times - but not quite 1,335 evenings away, as is plain for any truly consecrated child of Christ to see.
