I was half A sleep when i heard this on the news, don,t know all the details,

but if this true , this will certainly slow down door the door work.

Can anyone confirm this. I heard it on NBC ch. 4 news.

I heard it on the news tonight, too, but cannot find a written story about it. Been googling for an hour.

I *think* they said that the guy was arrested and that noone was hurt. The anchor said that he shot at them as they were leaving his house (getting into their car?). It happened in Riverside County, near Perris.

If I find an article, I'll post it.

    -Aude.

That is crazy. I used to get a little nervous going door to door with my kids. I've met some really wierd people at the doors. One guy brought out a huge dog to intimidate us. I was with my little son (who was like 4 at the time). I asked the guy, does he bite and he said "only Jehovah's Witnesses", so we got out of there fast.

    It won't change a thing.

Has happened twice in our area in the past 25 years. 1st incident, two sisters were wounded with buckshot; crazy man was arrested. Other was just shots fired overhead, also arrested.

I had a handgun pulled on me twice in my d2d career...not shot though...talked them out of it, apologized and left. Found out both times the person was a danger to anyone who came to the door. Postal workers would not deliver mail to the door and law enforcement went in groups of 4. Both were part of a "patriot" group.

I have had guns drawn on my at least three times once a shot fired over my head, the others in the hall all told me it was no big deal. We lived in an area where growing pot was huge and the others in the hall just felt that the ones pulling guns on us were just taking care of thier interests.

It always scarred the hell out me but I was ridiuled for being dramitic. I have also had dog put on me many times. I was told I did not have enough faith in Jehovah because the dogs scared me and when I was bit it was proff that Jehovah was not with me. I was bit a couple of times that broke the skin and even then I was told to just get on with service and quit being a baby over it.

I am still so mad that I went along with it all and blamed myself for not having more faith like I was told.

Good Mornin' LITS good to see you postin' this mornin'

The night before field service, I could never rest well

my daughter is scared of dogs, and I often wonderer

if she could over come, anything negative we may

incounter out in service. The anxiety was a bit much for me

you never know what your are walkin' in to. And JW's

wear these incidences like a badge of courage. And yes

they told me and my daughter we needed to have more faith

I agree with those who said this won't change anything. If anything it will make JWs dig their heels in deeper. It will only serve to feed their persecution complex.

As for dogs, I know of two separate occasions in which sisters were attacked, believing that since they were in the ministry that Jehovah would protect them. Some of them are just plain nutjobs.

I would expect the opposite. Persecution and the prospect of martyrdom often increases commitment of cult members.
