The GB has come up with some really stupid ideas lately, but lowering the hours for the month of April during a tract campaign was a smart move on their part. It will definitely up the averages and get some lazy jws back out into the work.

I heard from witnesses that large numbers pioneer, but also that those that do not pioneer are doing more than normal. Some non-pioneers had done more last week, than their average.

Also that many congregations leaf the tract in the mailbox when people are not at home. Yet not all territory was done, so far.

I think it will just lead to another quick burn out on the part of the r&f. They'll be high on the rhetoric for awhile then just burn out. It would have been better to just leave things as they were.

I just feel a bit sorry for the JWs that didn't sign up to pioneer - they must really feel guilty when all the hype is about those who pioneered. One congregation I heard asked for a show of hands for those who were pioneering that month.

$4/gallon is very cheap, in the UK it's almost $10/gallon

Our gallons are bigger than US ones... which makes our 10 gallon hats bigger than any Texas - never been brave enough to tell a Texan that though!

As we oldtimers who slogged around for 100 BONA-FIDE hours a month (no hour-long coffee breaks at the Wa Wa or Starbucks, 20-mile rides out to the rurals to knock on a "back call" who never answers the door, dumping off old issues of the magazine at old age homes and laundramats, etc.), 30 hours is a breeze to fake one's way through. As a nutty young Bethelite, I averaged more than 30 hours for several months while I was there. Nothing more than one more "feel good," guilt-assuaging exercise.

Something is not right. In my city I have only seen 2 pairs of dubs since the month started. I also wonder where is that "big army" of pioneers?

When I aux pio-sneered, I did 50 hours to qualify for eternal life. How generous god is that you can work for salvation with less hours in April.

I thought eternal life was a 'gift' he gave not earned by works.............shows what I know!!

It's odd that neither Mrs Punk or Daughter Punk have signed up for this everlasting life voucher redeemable at armageddon (terms and guilt trips apply and subject to overlapping). I say that as they are both far more zealous in the publishing corporation than they ever were when I was an Elder.

It can be a new comedy from the watchtower DVD collection, with Jim Dale in it = ''Carry on Fake those report slips''!!

I met a Witness in town today and she told me 22 had signed up to pioneer in our congregation this month out of 45 publishers, so just under half.

I am so far out of things now that when talking to the sister the issue was whether I will be going to the Memorial, not whether I should be pioneering.
