I used a combination of Allen Car's book, patches, zyban pills ... and the strong push I got by getting adult onset asthma. This was the third and final attempt, some years back. I did post a couple of attempts to give up on the JWD site for encouragement and support, but whether my final successful attempt was posted I can't remember. My point is, just go in guns blazing, all this stuff costs less than cigarettes - use all the help you can get!

Just as a little footnote, if you mix patches and zyban, you have to remember the zyban works on the brain and tells your brain to forget the addiction and the patches keep trickling more nicotene into your system, so the zyban you take for two weeks before your give up date and double thereafter whereas the patches you want to slope off as quickly after giving up as you can, i.e. just use them for a few days - week max - this is when using patches and zyban together.
