I have older brothers and sisters, so I was always "aware". I was always curious about the matter and investigated whenever I could, but for a while it was not too interesting any more. Then when I was 12 the burning hit me hard when a neighbor woman had her 15 y/o sister visit for the summer and I burned with desire to learn a lot more about this. I wish I had a choice about it and it never had happened. I would be glad to have lived my whole life without interest in the opposite sex other than friends.

PS: Where are the guys???
Where we always are at high school dances when the girls start chatting, over on the other side of the gym!
edit: OK, I suppose I should answer you now...I was out of college, she was a sister in law of a friend of a friend's wife (we were all neighbors in the apartment complex). We didn't have nearly as much in common as we thought, besides a case of hormonal blindness. It didn't work out or last long, and that's probably just as well.

I was in the 5th grade when I became enamored with "Elizabeth". Up until that point I had not really shown much interest in girls, but she caught my eye. So much so I was willing to catch "girl coodies".
What really dissapointed me was that a friend of mine whom I had shared this "secret" with, got his sister to write a few love notes and signed them "Lizzy" and put them in my locker. I was so happy to read these and after getting three of them I decided to reciprocate and wrote one to her.
When she got it she confronted me and said "Thanks, this was nice, but what do you mean by 'you appreciated my letters? I didn't give you any letters'"
Later when I showed her the notes that had been placed in my locker, she said "I didn't write those and I never call myself Lizzy!"
Then my "friend" began laughing and admitted he had had his sister write them. I was pretty mad for a moment, but then I laughed too that I fallen into the girl "trap."
By the way, this friend was also the same guy who told me what the "F" word meant. I still remember his description to this day. He said it meant "when a boy puts his thing into a girl and a girl puts her thing into a boy."
Thankfully it turned out to be somewhat incorrect.
