Mr eggnogg is like a blind man waving a sharp sword- it looks dangerous, but they can't hit anyone with it. Indeed, what kind of JW would be spending time on an apostate forum on this holiest of JW days? --and 8500 songs on an Ipod? I'll bet he didn't pay for all those songs, either.

The greater Moses, Jesus, left them alone for a few minutes and they made a golden calf, which you're currently bowing down to. I am pleading with you to stop idolizing the "organization"; and denying isn't the same as stopping.

    Amen and amen!

I'll bet he didn't pay for all those songs, either.

    LOL.

Well I just got back from the memoral. This was my first year I went and looked at the whole thing logically and with critical thinking and the whole talk is full of holes. Like a lot of people has said before, I can't believe I swallowed all of this stuff without question. I can atleast plead innocence though, I was raised in "the turth". It only took 29 years to finally look behind the curtain! I went because I wanted to remember Jesus sacrifice, to which I still respect and beleive it should be remembered. Perhaps next year (or throughout the year) I will find another way to memorialize Jesus death however.

I pm'ed you too moshe because I had ran out of posts. But i ment to give you a high 5 also.

I might add they got you egghead they won the debate. the point your loosing at is the time line but you seem to be arguing al around it but never confronting it head on. You see; the wtbs would have us believe that 1st century man could slaughter and bleed out an animalstarting at dusk then roast it and eat it before night fall complete, all by candle light or torch light then on this magic day in 33 ad jesus was arrested too while having waundered thru some gardens in jeruslem after eating this meal. clearly they presented scriptural proof that the slaughtering took place on the 1st day nisan 14 and the eating on the 15 yes and that is taking into account the jewish day starts at nightfall/sundown/dusk.

In case there are any lingering doubts about what "between the evenings" means, the Bible clears this up.

And this is what you will offer upon the altar: young rams each a year old, two a day constantly. And you will offer the one young ram in the morning, and you will offer the other young ram between the two evenings. And a tenth part of an e′phah measure of fine flour moistened with the fourth of a hin of beaten oil, and a drink offering of the fourth of a hin of wine, will go for the first young ram. And you will offer the second young ram between the two evenings. With a grain offering like that of the morning and with a drink offering like its, you will render it as a restful odor, an offering made by fire to Jehovah. - Exo 29:38-41

If the second ram would have been offered after sunset but before dusk, that would have been the next day, thus not the second of the day, but the first of the following day.

The daily sacrifice - one in the morning, one in the evening, but on the same day.

    Won'tLeave, you rock!

DJ, your WT spiel has been totally discredited.

Another point, the disciples asked "Where do you want us to prepare the Passover meal?"

Preparation meant getting rid of leaven, not the killing of lambs. That was only done at the Temple.

    Moshe,

You seem like a fun guy.

Why didn't you offer to give the Memorial talk?

It would have been so much more interesting!

Here's the part that doesn't seem right to me.

"This date corresponds to Nisan 14, which was when Jesus held the last valid Passover."

In Matthew 24 Jesus tells us when the "end of the age" and the destruction of the temple will be. Until the end of the age and the destruction of the temple all Passovers were valid.

Read Hebrews 8:13 "...ready to vanish away" Something that is ready to vanish away has not yet vanished away. And did not vanish away until the destruction of the temple in 70AD.

    Peace

I wonder how many JWs who saw this topic were brave enough to ask their elders last night why they celebrate the Memorial on the wrong day? The inability of JWs to explain away their mistake is an embarrassment to them, but they are too stubborn to admit they made a mistake. Let's face the facts, if the F&DS was unable to realize their major error here and fix the memorial date decades ago, then what other doctrinal errors have they missed? Did Jesus even care that the WT leaders screwed up? Most Christians would agree that the WT's once a year memorial is just plain wrong for Christians and mainstream orthodox Christians have had communion observances right all along. If the WT is wrong on such a major Christian dogma, that should make JWs think about looking for a new place to worship Jesus.
