just got back myself. the memorial was much better than last year - congregation hired 2 rooms - 275 in attendance - lots of inactive ones, and many non jw relatives showed up.

I'm just back. Is it my imagination or are these Memorial talks getting l-o-n-g-e-r? The infomercial for the meetings at the end was given twice: once by the speaker and then again in a letter read out by the chairman.

My little daughter is getting ready to go, after working all day at the tax office.
She's an accountant, you see, and tomorrow is the deadline for filing income taxes.
Also auxiliary pioneering.

I didn't get any invite, but my neighbors got a door hanger yesterday.
Skeeter, I'm on that list too--the list of people they don't bothger to ask! I did tell my daughter that I knew it was tonight (in a round-about way), I told her she'd be home in time to be ready.
@Snowbird--I hope your daughter is scheduled for a few "comp days" later this week, when the tax season madness is over. Congress should declare the third week of April as the official "National Appreciate Your Accountant Week"!

16th time I missed today!
16th time for me too. Would you folks believe I've even given the Memorial talk twice in the past? Man, that seems a lifetime ago. I'm an entirely different person now.

- I am still missing the scripture (s) that shows we were told (commanded) to observe the ones that are required to observe the memorial.
- I will even settle for any scripture that can be tweaked to imply that we the NON ANOINTED are asked to be there.
