I'm no longer surprised about anything when it comes to this organization. I know someone, an active JW who has been so since before I was born and remembers my mother bring pregnant with me, who believes in aliens and a lot of other stuff that would be frowned on (and indeed, is). He's still in. Mind control is a powerful thing.
Are You Surprised That Certain Witnesses Are Still Associated?

Hawkins used to think only people who are weak emotionally and psychologically succumb to cults.
"I was wrong," she said. "Most of the people we see have average or above average intelligence. A lot of them lead normal lives. You'd never know they were in a cult."

How about "weak" JWs that violate every rule yet they are "believers"??
It's not about belief or doctrine. No matter how bad their "sins" and "imperfections" may be, if they won't serve Jehovah, then Jesus will slit their throats at Armageddon, because it's the Just and Loving thing to do.

Each person must carry their own load.
The Holy Scriptures tell us that the disciple John and the apostle Paul had to put up with (very devisive) ones whom were not carrying their Christian vows properly. In some cases they were working contrary to the love of the Christ.
Who remembers the Holy Scriptures words about wheat and chaff or weeds and thorns? (Matthew 3:12 for reference).
And yet, although these are either things done on account of ignorance, sinful inclination or perhaps even Satanic oppression to cunningly weaken the resolve of others... or your own - what right do we have to judge in place of The Exemplar and rightful Judge - Jesus Christ?
Do you read hearts then?
And besides it is written "First extract the rafter from your own eye" Luke 6 verse 42.
Every disputing or reasoning against the Holy Scriptures is a Satanic work and a lie.

Is it not because it is viewed as "the worst form of [faith], except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time", to paraphrase Churchill. And hence the oft repeated question, "[where] shall we go away to", to paraphrase Peter.

dear Earnest,
1st Chronicles 28 verse 9 reads "...for all hearts Jehovah is searching, and every inclination of the thoughts he is discerning..."
So you should no doubt be pleased that this scripture will have much power with respects to the protection of the spirituality of persons that Jehovah God Himself finds dear, and in earnest.
Ones trying to incite Elders into wrongdoing find that it is a very heavy burden upon them for working contrary to God's Will and purpose. Pharoah is a case best illustrated, especially since the Egyptian Leader, Pharoah, thought it appropriate to kill the firstborns' of Israel and thus showed little compassion for human life. Either that of his own peoples or the Israelites.
Furthermore (and sadly) for ones inclined towards Satan they will find that anyone knowing the Holy Scriptures expertly like Joseph is a great force to be reckoned with. Not on account of anything special upon themselves, but on account of the power imparted through the Holy Spirit.
Very best,
jdh

"Yes, one brother, he talks about sex ALL the time. I thought he would be df'd more than 20 years ago, but he is still the microphone handler in his congregation."
I bet the mics aren't the ONLY thing he handles
Has anyone run a check on Brother Sexitup yet? He just might be on the national registry for sex offenders. Happened in my old congo.
"Ones trying to incite Elders into wrongdoing find that it is a very heavy burden upon them for working contrary to God's Will and purpose." COMO? I think many an elder need no help at all from being "incited into wrongdoing." They do a pret-ty good job of it all by themselves.

It's true: a person can be "normal" looking and still be a cultist.
