My favorite car, the best car I've ever owned is a 1995 Toyota Camry LE 4-cyl automatic.
It has over 205,000 miles on the odometer. It still runs quiet and smooth. Can go 85 MPH all day without complaint. Consistently gets 30-32 MPG on the road, even with the trunk loaded with luggage.
I've owned several Cadillacs, a couple of Chevys, a pair of Pontiacs, two Datsuns (1968-1972), a Datsun 260Z, even a 1990 Honda Accord coupe. But this Toyota that I purchased new in 1995 can't be beat. The only way you could kill this car would be to drop it in a crusher and grind it up.
In spite of the fact that it only gets washed about six or seven times a year and the oil changed just before a long trip, it still looks pretty decent. Here is a photo of it almost ten years ago on California's State Highway 1 near Big Sur and Carmel. The second photo is it parked in front of the Menlo Park Kingdom Hall in December 2010 when I was in the San Francisco Bay area researching my articles on the nasty takeover scandal there.
This car might actually outlive me. If so, I bet one of my grandkids will get it and drive it to college (they're not JWs, thank goodness!)

My dream car was my Silver Ford Capri Sport with a red interior. A real head turner back in the seventies.
Since owning that car no other car has inspired me to want it other than, can I fit the kids in the back and the dogs in the boot, is it a nice colour and how loud does the stereo go?
For reliability and abuse taking my current car the VW Polo has been outstanding.

Mini Cooper S, ballistic. Very nice. And it would do the gymkhana at over .9 Gs. I never owned one but always wanted to.

Most economical - Ford Taurus - bought super cheap (used) and got close to 200,000 miles on it
Most fun - Audi A4, 6 cyl, 5 speed.

Basically, you never hear anything bad about mercedes. Saw a docu about the austin mini. It was revolutionary in it's usage of space and it's lowering of the center of gravity. It's still going strong, today. Amazing car.

I am like Juan, I love my Toyota. I just bought this one a few days ago; toyota carolla in mint green. I have had serveral toyotas, this is my fav. Gave my Toyota Sienna to my brother, it had over 100,000 miles and still running great. He needed it to transport his grandkids. I got rid of the soccer mom car since me kids are pretty much grown now.
I am saving for a brand new sports car (baby blue) that I will buy before my 50th birthday. That is my dream right now. (am 42)
