Scriptural divorce if spouse homosexual or practices bestiality? 1972—NO; 1986--YES

*** w72 1/1 p.32***While both homosexuality and bestiality are disgusting perversions, in the case of neither one is the marriage tie broken. It is broken only by acts that make an individual “one flesh” with a person of the opposite sex other than his or her legal marriage mate.

***True Peace book (1986) tp chap. 13 p. 147 par. 14***This is emphasized by the fact that he acknowledges only one proper basis for divorce. Jesus showed what this is: “Whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication [por·nei′a], and marries another commits adultery.” (Matthew 19:9; 5:32) Por·nei′a, as we have seen, refers to sexual relations outside of marriage, whether natural or unnatural.

Blood poured out or used to make hemoglobin-based products?

(Leviticus 17:13) ‘As for any man of the sons of Israel or some alien resident who is residing as an alien in YOUR midst who in hunting catches a wild beast or a fowl that may be eaten, he must in that case pour its blood out and cover it with dust.

(Deuteronomy 12:16) Only the blood YOU must not eat. On the earth you should pour it out as water.

*** w0010/15pp.30-31QuestionsFromReaders***Occasionally, a doctor will urge a patient to deposit his own blood weeks before surgery (preoperative autologous blood donation, or PAD) so that if the need arises, he could transfuse the patient with his own stored blood. However, such collecting, storing, and transfusing of blood directly contradicts what is said in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Blood is not to be stored; it is to be poured out—returned to God, as it were. Granted, the Mosaic Law is not in force now. Nevertheless, Jehovah’s Witnesses respect the principles God included in it, and they are determined to ‘abstain from blood.’ Hence, we do not donate blood, nor do we store for transfusion our blood that should be ‘poured out.’ That practice conflicts with God’s law.

----------Yet jws can choose hemoglobin-based products made from expired human/animal blood…stored and not poured out per the scriptures.

    What Are Hemoglobin-Based Oxygen Carriers?

Within each red blood cell are some 300 million hemoglobin molecules. Hemoglobin represents about one third of the volume of a mature red cell. Each molecule contains the protein globin and a pigment called heme—which includes an iron atom. When a red blood cell passes through the lungs, oxygen molecules penetrate the cell and attach themselves to hemoglobin molecules. Seconds later, the oxygen is discharged into body tissue, sustaining the life of the cells. Some manufacturers now process hemoglobin, releasing it from human or bovine red blood cells. The extracted hemoglobin is then filtered to remove impurities, chemically modified and purified, mixed with a solution, and packaged.

PolyHeme contains hemoglobin processed from expired blood donations and is designed to be given to trauma victims in place of blood or saline solution. The product is supposed to be used as a temporary measure when there is a large blood loss and no readily available blood supply, according to Northfield.

    START OF ARTICLE

    1. What will help us to follow “the tracks of righteousness”?

BY MEANS OF his Word and his holy spirit,

Jehovah is leading his people in “the

tracks of righteousness.” (Ps. 23:3) Since we

are imperfect, however, we tend to deviate

from that path. To return to doing what is

right calls for determined effort. What will

help us to succeed? Like Jesus, we must love

doing what is right.—Read Psalm 45:7.

    COMMENTS

By using the OT the WTS leaves out Jesus as the one leading Christians.

“Your Leader is one, the Christ .”—Matt. 23:10.

Imperfection = deliberate choice or accidental?

'No one has the right to choose to do what is wrong.' Abraham Lincoln

What is right = WTS or Jesus’ opinion?

    2. What are “the tracks of righteousness”?

2 What are “the tracks of righteousness”?

A track is a narrow footpath or trail.

These “tracks” are determined by Jehovah’s

standard of righteousness. In Hebrew and

Greek, “righteousness” refers to that which

is “upright,” implying a strict adherence

to moral principles. Since Jehovah is “the

abiding place of righteousness,” his worshippers

are happy to look to him to determine

the morally upright path that they

    should follow.—Jer. 50:7.

    COMMENTS

    “narrow” is the operative word

    Jehovah’s standards or WTS standards?

The WTS never gives the Hebrew or Greek word any more…something Fred Franz always did.

“implying” = where is the reference to a Hebrew or Greek dictionary? How can you look it up if the WTS does supply the original Hebrew or Greek?

    His worshippers = only jws

    3. How can we learn more about God’s righteousness?

3 Only by striving with all our heart to

conform to God’s righteous standards will

we be found fully pleasing to him. (Deut.

32:4) That begins with learning all we can

about Jehovah God from his Word, the Bible.

The more we learn about him, drawing

closer to him every day, the more we will

love his righteousness. (Jas. 4:8) We must

also accept the guidance of God’s inspired

Word when we are called upon to make important

    decisions in life.

    COMMENTS

    “conform”???

Possible Reasons for Conformity: Why Do People Conform?
What are the possible reasons for conformity? There may be a number of reasons for why we may conform. First, we may conform because we wish to feel part of a group. Second, we may wish to gain social approval and acceptance from members of a group. Third, we may wish to avoid being criticized. Fourth, we may wish to avoid being ignored. Fifth, we may wish to behave in a manner that is perceived to be right or correct. Sixth, we may wish to avoid feeling inferior to others.

    --------------------

Pleasing to God or to the men on the GB?

    *** w94 10/1 p. 8***

Even as Bible prophecy pointed forward to the Messiah, it also directs us to the close-knit body of anointed Christian Witnesses that now serve as the faithful and discreet slave. It helps us to understand the Word of God. All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the “greatly diversified wisdom of God” can become known only through Jehovah’s channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave.—John 6:68.

Can jws learn or be guided without the GB’s “bible-based” publications?

*** w09 2/15 p. 28 pars.15-16***As individual Christians, how do we view the timely spiritual food that the faithful slave dispenses by means of Bible-based publications and through Christian gatherings? Do we gratefully partake of it and readily apply what we learn? What is our response to organizational decisions made by the slave? Our willing obedience to the direction provided gives evidence of our faith in Jehovah’s arrangement.—Jas. 3:17. “My sheep listen to my voice,” said Jesus, “and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27) That is true of the anointed Christians. What about those who “go with” them? Such ones must listen to Jesus. They must also listen to his brothers.

What are important decisions = things that lead to being df’d by the BOE.

    Seek God’s Righteousness

    4. What is involved in seeking God’s righteousness?

    4 Read Matthew 6:33. Seeking God’s

    righteousness involves more than our

spending time preaching the good news of

the Kingdom. For our sacred service to be

acceptable to Jehovah, our everyday conduct

must harmonize with his high standards.

What has to be done by all who

    are seeking Jehovah’s righteousness? They

must “put on the new personality which

was created according to God’s will in true

    righteousness and loyalty.”—Eph. 4:24.

    COMMENTS

    More than spending time preaching?????

Oh, that’s right, you can’t be bonking someone and go door to door!

New personality = what does the bible say that is? In Russell’s time it was called character development but Rutherford destroyed that idea and any who supported it.

    5. What will help us to overcome discouragement?

5 As we strive to live up to God’s righteous

    standards, we may sometimes become

    discouraged because of our shortcomings.

What can help us to overcome debilitating

discouragement and learn to love and practice

    righteousness? (Prov. 24:10) We must

regularly approach Jehovah in prayer “with

true hearts in the full assurance of faith.”

(Heb. 10:19-22) Whether we are anointed

Christians or we have an earthly hope, we

exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice of Jesus

Christ and in his services as our great

High Priest. (Rom. 5:8; Heb. 4:14-16) The

Effectiveness of Jesus’ shed blood was illustrated

in the very first issue of this magazine.

(1 John 1:6, 7) The article stated: “It is a singular

fact, that [when] a scarlet or crimson

object [is] viewed through a red glass in the

light, the object appears white; so, though

our sins be as scarlet or crimson, when we

come where God will view them through

the blood of Christ, they are accounted as

    white.” (July 1879, p. 6) What a marvelous

provision Jehovah has made for us through

the ransom sacrifice of his dear Son!—Isa.

    1:18.

    COMMENTS

Discouraged because of our shortcomings or because of the elders and “mature” jws pointing out how we don’t live up to their standards?

What happens to people who are pointed to as flawed, weak, bad association? The people of the earth?

*** w99 8/1 pp. 23-24***Even within the Christian congregation, we can come under the influence of unwholesome peer pressure if we choose spiritually weak individuals as our close associates. (1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Thessalonians 3:14)

Do jws ever live down their flaws in the congregation or are they brought up time and again, defining them by something that happened 20 years ago. Can you imagine James bringing up 30 years later that Peter was the one that denied Jesus 3 times?

So who provided the ransom…would it have been possible without Jesus’ willingness to die for sinners?

    Check Your Spiritual Armor

    6. Why is it crucial that we check our spiritual armor?

6 At all times, we need to have on “the

breastplate of righteousness,” for it is an essential

part of the spiritual armor from God.

(Eph. 6:11, 14) Whether we have recently

dedicated ourselves to Jehovah or we already

have decades of sacred service behind

us, it is crucial that we check our spiritual armor

every day. Why? Because the Devil and

his demons have been cast down to the vicinity of

the earth. (Rev.12:7-12) Satan is angry,

and he knows that his time is limited.

Thus, he has intensified his attacks on God’s

people. Do we appreciate the importance of

having on “the breastplate of righteousness”?

    COMMENTS

Breastplace = what protects our heart per the WTS?

Satan and demons are after only jws = how do many interpret that as meaning?

    www.forum18.org

What about these Christians…Satan isn’t after them?

    7. How will we conduct ourselves if we appreciate

our need for “the breastplate of righteousness”?

7 A breastplate protects the physical heart.

Because of our imperfect nature, our figurative

heart tends to be treacherous and desperate.

(Jer. 17:9) Since our heart is inclined

to do what is wrong, it is vital that it be

trained and disciplined. (Gen. 8:21) If we appreciate

our need for “the breastplate of righteousness,”

    we will not temporarily remove

it by choosing to be entertained by

what God hates; nor will we allow ourselves

to fantasize about engaging in wrongdoing.

We will not squander large amounts of valuable

    time viewing television. Instead, we

will keep struggling to do what is pleasing to

Jehovah. Even if we were to stumble by momentarily

    giving in to unrighteous fleshly

thinking, we would get up again with Jehovah’s

    help.—Read Proverbs 24:16.

    COMMENTS

Our heart---what about the hearts of the GB or the elders?

Temporarily remove it—like the elder that showed an R-rated movie and said that he knew where the bad parts were and would speed past the part…does that mean he saw the bad part and somehow wasn’t affected?

How much is “large amounts” viewing television? What about the elders who go out to their car/truck to listen to the sports events that air during a meeting or convention?

What is momentarily unrighteous fleshly thinking? Is that when the porn pops up unbidden on your computer?

*** g 12/07 p. 12***Says one 19-year-old girl, “Sometimes I’m browsing or shopping on the Internet or even just checking bank statements online when wham—pornography pops up!”

    8. Why do we need “the large shield of faith”?

8 Among the parts of our spiritual armor

is “the large shield of faith.” It enables us to

“quench all the wicked one’s burning missiles.”

(Eph. 6:16) In turn, faith and wholehearted

love for Jehovah help us to practice

righteousness and remain on the road to

everlasting life. The more we learn to love Jehovah,

the more we will value his righteousness.

But what about our conscience? How

does it help us in our efforts to love righteousness?

    COMMENTS

Faith in God, Jesus, or the WTS?

CARROT = road to everlasting life

    Love God or Jesus?

Conscience defined = yours or another’s is more important? Isn’t it true that there is always one person in any congregation that is stumbled over anything? I can remember the elders trying to control individuals or groups by saying “someone” was stumbled about it but refusing to give the name and without that individual exercising Matthew 18:15,16?

    Maintain a Good Conscience

    9. How do we benefit from maintaining a good

    conscience?

9 At our baptism, we made a request to Jehovah

    for “a good conscience.” (1 Pet. 3:21)

Because we exercise faith in the ransom, the

blood of Jesus covers our sins and we thus

enjoy a clean standing before God. To remain

in a saved condition, however, we

need to maintain a good conscience. If our

conscience at times accuses us and sounds

warnings, we should be grateful that it is

    working properly. Such proddings indicate

that our conscience has not become seared

with respect to Jehovah’s righteous ways.

(1 Tim. 4:2) But the conscience can play an

additional role for those wanting to love

    righteousness.

    COMMENTS

What does it mean to exercise faith?

Blood of Christ not GB; clean if imperfect?

Conscience sounds warnings or the WTS?

10, 11. (a) Relate an experience that shows why

we should heed our Bible-trained conscience.

    (b) Why can a love of righteousness bring us great

    pleasure?

10 When we do what is wrong, our conscience

may condemn or torment us. One

youth strayed from “the tracks of righteousness.”

    He became addicted to pornography

and started smoking marijuana. He felt

guilty when he went to the meetings and felt

like a hypocrite when he shared in the field

service, so he stopped participating in these

Christian activities. “But,” he stated, “little

did I know that my conscience would hold

me accountable for my actions.” He added,

“My stupidity lasted for about four years.”

Then he started to think about returning to

the truth. Although he thought that Jehovah

would not listen to his prayer, he prayed

anyway and asked for forgiveness. Less than

ten minutes later, his mother visited him

and encouraged him to return to the meetings.

He went to the Kingdom Hall and asked an

elder to study with him. In time, he

was baptized, and he is thankful to Jehovah

    for saving his life.

    COMMENTS

Addicted to porn and smoking marijuana—was he baptized, were his parent(s) jws?

I felt like a hypocrite going to meetings where gossips and liars masquerading as Christians made people’s lives miserable and were honored as elders, pioneers, their wives.

God would not listen to his prayers probably because his jw family weren’t listening to him

Mother visited him ten minutes later (implied sent by God?) and encouraged him…I guess he was not baptized or his mother could not have associated with him.

11 Have we not found that great pleasure

can be derived from doing what is right? As

we learn to love righteousness and practice it

more fully, we will find more joy in doing

what pleases our heavenly Father. And just

think! The day is coming when all humans

will experience only feelings of pleasure

from their conscience; they will perfectly reflect

God’s image. Let us, therefore, now implant

a love of righteousness deep in our

heart and cause Jehovah to rejoice.—Prov.

    23:15, 16.

    COMMENTS

What is “doing what is right”? Please God or the GB? What if what the GB teaches is not in harmony with the bible?

All humans—only jws who survive the destruction of all non-jws

12, 13. How can we train our conscience?

12 What can we do to train our conscience?

When we study the Scriptures and

our Bible-based publications, it is important

to remember that “the heart of the

righteous one meditates so as to answer.”

(Prov.15:28) Consider how this proves beneficial

when we face questions regarding employment.

If a certain type of work is plainly

    in conflict with Scriptural requirements,

most of us quickly respond to the direction

provided through the faithful and discreet

slave class. When the answer to an employment

question is not clear-cut, however, Bible

principles should be noted and considered

    prayerfully.* This applies to such

principles as the need to avoid offending the

consciences of others. (1 Cor. 10:31-33) Especially

should we be concerned with principles

    involving our relationship with God.

If Jehovah is real to us, we will primarily ask

ourselves, ‘Would my doing this work make

Jehovah feel hurt, causing him pain?’—Ps.

    78:40, 41.

    COMMENTS

Study scriptures but only with “bible-based” publications

Work plainly in conflict—Notice the Talmud like principles. What about congregations that buy church buildings to turn into KHs or sell KHs to religions to turn into their religious building? (if anyone needs a full copy of the article below, let me know)

*** w99 4/15 p. 29***If the Christian is an employee without the deciding voice over what jobs are accepted, other factors ought to be considered, such as the location and the extent of involvement. Is the employee asked simply to deliver or put in place new chairs on an occasion or to render human service, such as a fireman’s putting out a fire in a church before it spreads? Many would see this as different from an employee of a business spending a long time painting the church or regularly doing gardening to make it attractive. Such regular or extended contact would increase the likelihood that many would link the Christian with a religion that he claims he does not endorse, potentially stumbling them.—Matthew 13:41; 18:6, 7.

Avoid offending---there is always one jw that is offended running the whole congregation’s conscience.

    Principles or laws?

    * For a discussion of Bible principles related to employment

questions, see The Watchtower of April 15, 1999, pages 28-30.

A trained conscience helps us to

    resolve employment questions

13 When preparing for the Watchtower

Study or the Congregation Bible Study, we

ought to bear in mind the need to meditate

on the information presented. Do we find

ourselves always quickly underlining the answer

to a study question and moving on to

the next paragraph? Such study sessions are

unlikely to deepen our love for righteousness

or to develop within us a sensitive conscience.

If we are to come to love righteousness,

we need to study diligently and meditate

on what we read in God’s written Word.

There are no shortcuts when it comes to

learning to love righteousness with all our

    heart!

    COMMENTS

So the WTS knows of the practice of not reading the material beforehand…just randomly highlighting words to fool the attendants/mike handlers. Why is meditating encouraged when jws can only answer from the material in the paragraph, not bringing in new material?

Why the in 1977 did the WTS change the procedure and have the paragraph read first and the question asked last? Because people were reading the material beforehand; so now 34 years later jws are still “mailing it home.”

So how many scriptures are actually read in a study? How many are merely cited, and snippets used? How much time is allotted to read the scriptures?

    Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness

    14. How do Jehovah God and Jesus Christ want us

to feel about our sacred service?

14 Jehovah God and Jesus Christ want us to

be happy as we perform our sacred service.

What will contribute to our happiness?

Why, a love of righteousness! In the Sermon

on the Mount, Jesus stated: “Happy are

those hungering and thirsting for righteousness,

since they will be filled.” (Matt. 5:6)

What significance do these words have for

those who have a desire to love righteousness?

    COMMENTS

So finally Jesus gets a mention.

What is sacred service? What was it in the 1970’s?

*** w76 10/1 p. 595par. 18***Well, then, is the “sacred service” of Christians limited to some special place or places, or confined to a special class or group like the ancient priesthood of Israel? No, for even among the Israelites it was not just those appointed to serve at the tabernacle who were supposed to engage in “sacred service.” It was the privilege and duty of the wholepeopleofIsrael to engage in such service.—Ex. 3:12; Acts 7:6, 7; Rom. 9:4.

    p. 598 par. 9***Sacred service,” then, is not something that occupies only a portion of our lives. It is not limited to just one activity or a certain number of activities but it takes in every aspect of our daily living. It can be summed up by these words: ‘Keep doing all things as unto Jehovah, whether eating or drinking or doing any other thing.’ (1 Cor. 10:31)

Husbands and wives can render “sacred service” by making their marriage successful and an honor to God’s institution of marriage.

Housewives have a fine opportunity to perform acceptable “sacred service” to God. Their fine works that others can see would certainly include keeping a neat, clean house , taking care of the cooking and the clothing needs of the family.

If children in the household are concerned with rendering “sacred service” to Jehovah they can show respect for their father and help their mother in bringing honor to God by helping them to keep the house in good, clean order.

    BUT IN 1980….

    *** w80 12/15 p. 29***

Does “sacred service” include everyday activities of life, such as caring for our families, maintaining good morals and the like?

No. “Sacred service” applies to that which directly involves our worship of God. It includes formal and informal witnessing, sharing in worship at Kingdom Halls, caring for our meeting places, all activity related to providing Bibles and Bible literature, as well as sacrifices that we may make in encouraging and aiding our brothers, spiritually and materially, to keep active in Jehovah’s work.—8/15, pp. 30, 31.

15, 16. In what ways can spiritual hunger and

    thirst be satisfied?

15 The world we live in is ruled by the wicked

one. (1 John 5:19) If we pick up a newspaper

in any country, we find reports of

cruelty and violence on an unprecedented

scale. Man’s inhumanity to man is troubling

for a righteous person to contemplate. (Eccl.

8:9) As those who love Jehovah, we know

that only he can satisfy the spiritual hunger

and thirst of individuals desiring to learn

righteousness. The ungodly will soon be removed,

and lovers of righteousness will no

longer experience the distress caused by law defying

people and their evil deeds. (2 Pet. 2:

7, 8) What a relief that will be!

    COMMENTS

The WTS that anything and everyone outside their organization is controlled by Satan…even worshippers of Satan since he is the god of “this system of things.”

Does God or the WTS/FDS/GB satisfy that hunger? Don’t jws say that people have to go through their organization?

Ungodly = all 7 billion non-jws, men, women, children, and little babies, even the unborn.

Lovers of righteousness = only jws

Law defying people = all non-jws

16 As Jehovah’s servants and followers of

Jesus Christ, we realize that all those hungering

and thirsting for righteousness “will be

filled.” They will be fully satisfied through

God’s arrangement of the new heavens and

the new earth in which “righteousness is to

dwell.” (2 Pet. 3:13) So let us not lose heart or

be amazed that oppression and violence

have taken away righteousness in this satanic

world. (Eccl. 5:8) Jehovah, the Most High,

knows what is taking place and will soon deliver

    lovers of righteousness.

Only jws are righteous then = this satanic world

    SOON deliver—jws have been waiting since 1879, 132 years, with several false starts in 1914, 1915, 1920, 1925, 1940’s, 1975, (1984), (1994)

Even Noah waited 120 years at the most, 40 years for Jeremiah, 37 years for the Christians (33 to 70 C.E.)

    Benefit From Loving Righteousness

    17. What are some of the benefits that come from

    loving righteousness?

17 Psalm 146:8 emphasizes an outstanding

benefit of following the path of righteousness.

The psalmist sang: “Jehovah is loving

the righteous ones.” Just imagine! The Sovereign

of the universe loves us for loving

righteousness! Because of Jehovah’s love, we

are confident that he will provide for us as

we keep Kingdom interests first in our life.

(Read Psalm 37:25; Proverbs 10:3.) Eventually,

this entire planet will be enjoyed by lovers

of righteousness. (Prov. 13:22) For most

of God’s people, the reward for having practiced

    righteousness will be overwhelming

joy and life without end in a beautiful earthly

paradise. Even now, those who love God’s

righteousness are rewarded with an inner

peace that contributes to harmony in their

families and in their congregations.—Phil. 4:

    6, 7.

    COMMENTS

Does God love us…only if the elders, Cos, Dos, GB judge us worthy. Your spirituality is scrutinized every step of the way when you are a jw…by humans that is.

Lovers of righteousness = only jws

    God’s people = only jws

CARROT = life without end on a paradise earth (where are the anointed in this picture, aren’t they God’s people?)

Yes, jws have inner peace fueled by alcohol and anti-depressants. They have harmony in their families as wives are told to take the abuse from their husbands for it pleases God and their children one by one leave the WTS organization because of the hypocrisy they see at home and in the congregation.

    18. What positive things can we do as we await Jehovah’s

    day?

18 As we await the arrival of the great day

of Jehovah, we must continue to seek his

righteousness. (Zeph. 2:2, 3) Let us, therefore,

manifest a genuine love for Jehovah

God’s upright ways. That includes keeping

“the breastplate of righteousness” firmly in

place to protect our figurative heart. We also

need to maintain a good conscience—one

that will bring pleasure to us and cause the

heart of our God to rejoice.—Prov. 27:11.

    COMMENTS

When is the arrival of that great day, was it 1914, 1915, 1920, 1925, 1975, 1984, 1994, SOON, VERY SOON NOW…as jws look forward to the eternal destruction of every non-jw on earth, man, woman, child, baby.

Where is the love for Christ, or the love for fellow humans? Didn’t John say you cannot be loving God if you are not loving fellow humans?

A conscience that brings pleasure to us or to everyone in the congregation who has a “weak” conscience?

    19. What should we be determined to do, and what

will be discussed in the next article?

19 Jehovah’s “eyes are roving about

through all the earth to show his strength in

behalf of those whose heart is complete toward

him.” (2 Chron. 16:9) How comforting

those words are to us as we do what is right

in the face of increasing instability, violence,

and wickedness in this troubled world! True,

our righteous ways may be puzzling to the

masses of mankind alienated from God. But

we benefit ourselves greatly by adhering to

    Jehovah’s righteousness. (Isa. 48:17; 1 Pet.

4:4) So, then, with a complete heart, let us be

    determined to continue finding enjoyment

in loving and practicing righteousness with

all our heart. However, having a complete

heart also includes hating lawlessness. The

following article will show us what this

    means.

    COMMENTS

While God may be watching you to help you, the jws in the congregation are watching you to catch you in a sin…and some who fail to do that are willing to make one up.

Is it the righteous ways that are puzzling or the ones that beat spouses and children, molest them, kill them, defraud their members, run off with their fellow worshipper’s spouse?

Does practicing righteousness mean showing love to those around us? Has the WTS loved the lawless and hated the victim when it came to child molesters? Are they like the religious leaders of Jesus’ day who wanted to kill him because they might lose their situation with the government, the illusion of their righteousness?

    How Would You Answer?

Why is appreciation for the ransom

necessary in order to love righteousness?

Why is it vital that we wear “the

    breastplate of righteousness”?

How can we train our conscience?

    CONCLUDING COMMENTS

NEXT WEEK, Do You Hate Lawlessness?

Do you think the WTS will mention the child molesters in their midst and how they did not protect the victims?

Do you think the WTS will mention how they encouraged women to stay with their abusive, drunken husbands?

Do you think the WTS will talk about the lives that were lost by jws between 1967 and 1980, when the light dimmed from their stance on organ transplants before 1967 and finally turned on again in 1980? I wonder if someone high up in Bethel needed a transplant and received a revelation from God?

    In Hebrew and

Greek, “righteousness” refers to that which

is “upright,” implying a strict adherence

    to moral principles.

The Hebrew and Greek words for righteousness can be found in Strong's Concordance, which is online.

Could it be that they don't want the sheep to know that?

    Tee hee hee.

    Thanks, Blondie.

    Great job, as usual.

If a certain type of work is plainly in conflict with Scriptural requirements, most of us quickly respond to the direction provided through the faithful and discreet slave class. When the answer to an employment question is not clear-cut, however, Bible principles should be noted and considered prayerfully.* This applies to such principles as the need to avoid offending the consciences of others.

Short of working as a stripper or a pimp, the bible is pretty silent on what types of jobs Christians can work at. It's funny how JWs are not allowed to work at a company that produces tobacco, but there's no problem with them working at companies that produce deadly chemicals that causes chemical and environmental cancers. And of course, the biggest bugaboo of all: Shift Work! How many JWs gave up good jobs that involved shift work due to pressure from the elders and the Organization itself? There's a slight bit of a difference between work that is "in conflict with scriptural requirement" and work that is "in conflict with the WTS's requirements."

When preparing for the Watchtower Study or the Congregation Bible Study, we ought to bear in mind the need to meditate on the information presented. Do we find ourselves always quickly underlining the answer to a study question and moving on to the next paragraph?

Ya......it's not enough to read it over at home, underline it, then go to the meeting and listen as it's read yet again and then covered again in the Review. Now apparently the average Dub can't even be trusted to underline the paragraphs at the proper speed! Tsk, tsk, tsk.......and they wonder why so many Witnesses are on antidepressants and suffer from mental disorders.

What does the type of job you have and underlining a WT magazine have to do with righteousness???

    This is unbelievable!

What does the type of job you have and underlining a WT magazine have to do with righteousness???

Why Sylvia---it has everything to do with righteousness!! Being a window washer and underlining the Craptower study articles at exactly 0.06547 seconds per word will result in grand blessings by Jehovah and will mean you get that pet lion you've been aiming for in the Noo Cistern of Things! However, if you get a really good paying job where you have to miss the occassional meeting and underline your study article at 0.0666 seconds per word, you will be shunned now and be pushing daisies in the Noo Cistern.

Shift Work! How many JWs gave up good jobs that involved shift work due to pressure from the elders and the Organization itself?

The phrase, "2nd shift", is likely to elicit all types of stress responses from a JW who is "serious" about the truth. So so sad. If I had a dollar for every time one of the witnesses turned down a job because of shift work....

    Good review blondie.
